Having come home from voting on Brexit and on opening Goan Voice UK useful for 
listings on Death Notices (No Marriages,Birthdays, yet) I misread  a Big 
announcement that the G.O.A. UK  had died only to find summaries  on fBrexit by 
the two Pinocchio who could not attract 20 People to form a quorum at a Company 
Annual General Meeting  out of thousand and thousand Goans as reported by 
PTI,The Hindustan, TOI and Heraldo.
They cannot speak for 45 million people registered to vote in the United 
Kingdom the outcome of which will be known after Sunrise on Friday 24 November.
Only on 11 June as published on Goan Voice UK the Goan Association celebrated 
its Golden Anniversary. Our young people in uk  don’t know their app from their 
elbow with all their Indian Phones and Indian Pads there is silence like a pin 
dropping on a carpet no pictures on Facebook  or videos either.
 It look like the  pinochio duet had a field day having awarded themselves a 
meal at GBP70.00 per couple perhaps a few drinks thrown in on the house as they 
claim their expenses another freebie on the company. Forensic accounting will 
find more debits than credits on the account for this historic Goan Occasion in 
the United Kingdom.
Did you attend please share with us on Goanet at least tell us  what a piece of 
cake tasted like.

Project GEIT (Goans Empowered with Information Technology), the flagship
initiative of Goa IT Professionals (GITP), is the single most revolutionary
people-driven change happening in the Goan school education system
beginning last academic year.


Project GEIT recently concluded its pilot year on a high note with a
successful 10-day Information Technology-centric Summer Camp 2016 during
May 2-13 at the Central Library (Patto, Panaji) attended by 84 school kids
from 28 locations across Goa and where 25 industry experts and leaders,
academicians, creative masters and tech-wizards presented and demonstrated
for free the use of Computers in a wide variety of applications relevant to
human life today like internet safety for children, movie-making,
animation, robotics, music, telecommunications, ship design, astronomy,
blogging, enablement for people with disabilities, mobile app design and
development (using App Inventor of Massachusetts Institute of Technology,
USA), networks, databases, agriculture, entrepreneurship, Indian language
computing, 3D printing, SCRATCH (i.e. a child-friendly computer programming
platform from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA), Hour of Code and
more. The children were left spell-bound and we have some great feedback
from them as well as their parents regarding this camp. The camp concluded
with a SCRATCH programming contest designed by a tech-wizard Class 8
student from Panaji who was also one of the presenters-cum-teachers at this
camp! All this was done for free with many parents voluntarily contributing
to cover all expenses of this camp while others donated a total of
Rs.26,515/- to 2 Goan charities through Project GEIT. Akin to our similar
Diwali2015 camp this proves again and beyond any doubt that Goans and their
well-wishers, guided in the right direction, are capable of revolutionising
our school education system all by themselves. We would much appreciate if
your publications can showcase this work in your weekend editions to create
wider awareness among Goans. We could provide you full details, photos and
quotes from people (i.e. students, parents, experts) on our various
activities till date.


*Project GEIT is now all set to reach out to as many Goan village schools
as possible this new academic year with a nomination-cum-compliance based
model. And demands inclusion of the child-friendly, open-source SCRATCH
into the Goa state board syllabus for school-level Computer Education from
this academic year itself. Our core team had met the Chief Minister in this
regard earlier and will pursue this matter again for its implementation.*


“A key observation from our work so far is that our Goan children have a
great hunger to learn the productive and creative use of IT and with the
right guidance and hands-on exposure they could beat even children from
advanced countries like USA, Japan etc. And this could revolutionize the

“Instead of teaching just clerical stuff like Microsoft Office to our
children and they whiling away so much of their time on computer games Goan

that the Goa government takes the bold step of introducing SCRATCH

COMMENTS:
Successive governments in Goa have failed and failed miserablY on this one
most important count. Primary education is the foundation of  the future
generations. And this foundation has been allowed to rot to allow
profligate life-style of our so called legislators that we elect time and
time again. This is the reason for GSRP to have come up. This is what the
Party's Road Map for Goa vouches to  implement: Its
Road Map Chapter on Education available at www.goasu-raj.com


*[IX]  EDUCATION*



The entire education system in Goa shall be reviewed through  debates,
seminars and free discussions  involving academics, pedagogues;
student/parent associations etc., to bring out a  “White Paper”. The focus
shall be shifted from Exam Oriented Education to ‘Practical & Knowledge
Oriented  Education. State of the art ‘Primary School System’
infrastructure shall be introduced to make the Primary Schools in the
State  the best in the Indian Union and comparable to the best in the
world. This we intend doing since the primary education is the foundation
for future generations in this competitive world. Syllabi and examination
patterns from primary school to university level shall be reviewed/changed
to effect up-gradation.  Educational institutions shall be freed from
political influence and/or interference and shall be accorded autonomous
status.  Sex education as well as  education on drug related influence on
human body and mind and its ill effects shall be introduced in schools.
Cell phone culture in schools shall be discouraged/arrested. Dramatics arts
and Indian/Western dance and music culture shall be included in school
curricula to bring out/develop latent talents in goan youth.



*1.  **Government Primary Schools:*

The Party envisages state of the art universal plan for primary school
buildings complete with facilities like school bus (universal design and
colour) canteen,  playground, garden/gardening area and audio visual
teaching aids etc.  Primary teachers shall be selected on basis of merit
for acceptable temperament towards children and impeccable moral standing.
Teaching shall be on ‘no home-work’ basis and mostly based on excursions to
factories, mining areas, hospitals, places of importance like agricultural
farms,  bird sanctuaries, zoos, water falls, monuments etc. so that the
young minds are exposed to real life experiences. Emphasis shall be
strongly laid on teaching of ‘secular moral values.’



*Note:*

The justification for this sustained expenditure is that if the government
can afford to spend rupees 150 crores  on IFFI related infrastructure with
Rs. 24 crores  spent on the renovation works of the Kala Academy, which
infrastructure has been reduced to naught in just one heavy down-pour, and
not just renovation, but another two or more Kala Academies could have been
built with the same amount, the Goa government can and should spend more on
primary school infrastructure as it is in the interest of Goa’s future.

*PS: Our statement "Educational institutions shall be freed from political
influence and/or interference and shall be accorded autonomous status"
becomes significant when today a call has been given to St. Xavier's Higher
Secondary School and College students to sign  the petition to the CM re:
the reinstatement of the brother-in-law of the CM who was caught in the
bribe scandal. GSRP WANTS THIS STOPPED AND THE PARENTS OF THE STUDENTS MUST
BE VEY SENSITIVE SO THAT THEIR WARDS ARE NOT USED  TO CLEAN  SELFISH
POLITICAL GARBAGE by vested instrests.*

This has been successfully done at the Head Quarters of GSRP at Pirazona
Moira. The entire rain wateer flow from the hillock of Pirazona empties
into the property, which at times becomes a literal swiming pool. But then,
the water vanishes within no time after the downpour has stopped. For the
past few years, none of the sorrounding wells go dry which was the normal
scene prior to this massive water harvesting. This pictures show for

RESPONSE: Obama were from the Luo tribe and by and large were not in the
Mau Mau, which was primarily if not totally a Kikuyu insurgency.

There were some Goans who served in the Kenya Police Reserve during this
period. The Para Military Police (GSU), General Service Unit, would conduct
sweeping searches even in our locality - Pangani, from time to time.
