Photo Blog by Rajan Parrikar has posted a new item, 'Fall Tales from Iceland - 2' A splash of red. I was away in the Icelandic countryside for most of this month in pursuit of Autumn colour. The first installment of Fall 2019 features a scene that I came upon fortuitously. A lone rowan caught my eye just as I was turning into Reykjavík on my drive back. [Goanet] The Brexit Circus
Listening to political commentators and ordinary citizens recently, I am convinced that the word *Sorry * doesn't feature in our Prime Minister's vocabulary. How sad for our country! Mervyn Maciiel

[Goanet] strange but true
Strange but true The large gathering of diaspora of Indians at Houston Texas is yet another occasion of popularity of P.M Modi His magnetic personality as conceived by Indians abroad is clear indication HE HAS PROJECTED HISELF AS THE SAVIOUR of down trodden masses, which dream he sells repeatedly in continuation with the past meets in various places I is strange that Indians coming from different states, religious, castes, tradition and customs do not see it as a barrier. In fact the reservations had to be cancelled due to space constraint at the venue The Indians gathered there were from across the length and breadth of USA .Why do we as Indians outside our country display such cohesive unity in diversity? Here in our Country the differences flare up even for minor reasons or differences We fight pitched battles over boundaries sharing of river waters, language supremacy. Religious practices. Customs , traditions , choice of food and even dress .All these things are forgotten, wherein India is first and Indians are adorable None capitalizes differences of opinions even acceptance is the key word, Sociologists are of the view that security in numbers is the best guarantee of collectivity. May they are more educated, independent, self sufficient and their life`s horizon are broadened with a more advanced perspective of life and interaction Besides Indians by their nature of commitment, respect for local culture , interactions in interpersonal reactions are more acceptable as peace loving non violent nature. Even there are Regional Associations catering to their cultural needs, there is never a clash to reinforce identities, and other preferences, Many have taken citizens ship , which shows the level healthy adaptation and integration If these values were transferred to Indian life,India would be better place of living growth and development These Diaspora at best do not intend to come back to the land of their birth and ancestors for the facilities available in distant land They do identify themselves on such occasions as it is a sort of Carnival fiesta of fellow men for once .They sort of extend their good wishes by those presence and support and that is where it all ends .But nonetheless it is raising Nationalistic feelings Our P,M, only uses Man Ki Baat approach instead of interacting directly with Citizens a la Howdy Modi style at Houston and elsewhere. If only Indians learn to forget their differences and work for the unity in diversity India can be the world leader . Nelson Lopes Chinchinim
Re: [Goanet] Air India to start London-Goa direct flight to get charter tourists
Might help the sagging airline though Goa itself is probably a problem with bad infrastructure, high prices of hotels, garbage issues, transport etc etc Bernice Sent from my iPhone > On 28-Sep-2019, at 7:29 PM, Gabe Menezes wrote: > > https://www.hotelierindia.com/business/8439-air-india-to-start-london-goa-direct-flight-to-get-charter-tourists > -- > DEV BOREM KORUM > > Gabe Menezes.

[Goanet] AND NOW DEATHS ON ACCOUNT OF POTHOLES
We have been seeing precious lives being lost due to Cancer, Malaria, Rabies and Dengue amongst other ailments but now we are also sadly witnessing deaths on account of those potholes galore on our roads across the State. This only displays the rank insensitiveness of the government which does not seem to value human lives. Its time this comatose government wakes up to the reality that it is duty bound to ensure that the roads of Goa are extremely safe without any potholes while also being free from those stray cattle and dogs. The Courts have already ruled that good roads is our fundamental right.
