Are professional money lenders ever known to have a conscience? 

How do Goan landlords have properties located in villages and towns quite 
distant from where they live? You think they bought them? Collateral security 
for loans that could never be repaid due to usurious rates of interest is the 
short answer.

The New York Mafia had nothing on him and the ‘powerful North Goa’ MLA. Perhaps 
the John Gotti and Joe Bonnano crime families could have learned to attack 
police stations and take over successful restaurant businesses from these Goan 
goons.

Conscience to realise the evil of all that he has been doing.

First of all, our Panaji MLA must understand that an MLA is elected to
legislate good laws and not for doling out government jobs.  It is
inappropriate for MLAs to even suggest or recommend names to favour
candidates, since the selection for all jobs is to be done entirely by
officials of the respective departments through a very transparent process
and strictly on merit.

Babush Monserrate should instead be concerned about the rampant corruption
at the Greater Panaji Planning and Development Authority which he heads and
the Corporation of the City of Panaji which he controls through his proxy
son Mayor while not forgetting the Imagine Panaji Smart City Development
Limited another den of mega corruption of which he is a Director.

We have hardly seen the Panaji MLA speak in the Legislative Assembly.
Babush Monserrate may be academically very ill-equipped but many others on
the same page have performed commendably well as Legislators.

Will the Panaji MLA also please look into those huge assets acquired by
some of his staff very disproportionate to their known source of income?
This only shows how deep the tentacles of corruption have spread.

Babush Monserrate would do well by taking a cue from those words by Abraham
Lincoln “You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the
people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the
time”.

Carmona Parish  creates headlines

The widely reported incident is harmful to the interest of the catholic
community, to the PP and the newly ordained  young priest  with
ramifications even beyond the geographical boundaries of the State.
Whatever might have  beem the reasons there is mechanism within the
Archdiocese to settle any concerns  in a spirit of understanding and
amicably.In the absence of any official clarification the rumors tend to
gain credence with  each one justifying to project own  stand. It is
expected that experienced seniors will weigh  the pros and cons of
individual behaviour that must confirm  to standards of decency  ,morality
and ethics. A  public office is susceptible to more scrutiny  and comes
under the lense of magnification.
It is rumored that it is  for the first-time that an assistant  had been
provided to the PP. Once used to decide alone without any resistance  or
suggestion ,the presence of another becomes a hindrance and privacy  ,
secrecy  becomes bone of contention.The superiority complex and feeling
that King can do no wrong  comes into play.If there were any serious
differences that merit attention of the Superiors that adversely affect the
discharge of faith , it is not known.It  appears that the storm was brewing
waiting to explode to humiliate, defame the assistant
It is being talked about that the Assitsnt was being harassed mentally and
physically even in matters like  food  , being forced to embrace personal
fads and preferences imposed unrealistically Why was he not allowed to
celebrate mass on Christmas and new year cannot be appreciated. That the
attack was mounted in the presence of the superior  without he trying to
stop physical assault is not acceptable.It appears that assailants wete
close to the superior and enjoyed his confifedence  , if not deliberate and
intentional  collaboration
The alibi that when the incident was burning that he had to be away  for
the whole day smells of  deeper conspiracy
The public raised an alarm till late night  is an indication that
parishioners do not approve of such physical  assault on a young priest.The
ecclesiastical  authorities rushed to the scene and assured the agitating
parishioners along with law enforcing agencies to maintain calm and  peace
promising of action as law demands. The assailants have been arrested and
book for transgression of law
It is a fact that on the next day  another priest celebrated the Eucharist
next morning   but PP continued to be absent busy with personal engagement
rather than being present on the scene to control damage and adverse
propaganda. HIS absence cannot be justified or condoned under any
circumstances
The assistant  had taken charge prior to the official posting of the PP.
Hence he enjoyed   and had built rapport with the parishioners  who adhered
to him for good reasons His popularity and availability  ,his manners wete
attractive to those around him is very encouraging response of his
acceptanility
If jealousy, envy  of being popular  with parishioners  ,  who looked up to
him for services   ,then it is very sad commentary of a sick mind of an
experienced adult
The young priest had his regency at St Michael Church ,Talegao where it is
confirmed that there were never issues of discord, insubordination or any
behaviour  that is of concern in discharge of his religious obligation
function and faith  ,In fact there was praise and appreciation of
humility,obedience and respect for superiors
It is a very complex situation for the authorities to handle   but under no
circumstance  physical assault on a priest in his first formative  posting
is shameful and the catholic assailants need to be excommunicated from the
Church.
Assaulting a priest is a serious crime against our religion  because they
are our guardians of faith .It is prayed that the action must conform to
public sentiments of hurt feelings and much more that it has occurred in
the silent presence of PP  without  hinn trying to intervene and his alibi
of being absent for personal reasons when the Parish wa burning deserves
serious considerations
As it is the catholic community is facing onslaught for all the wrong
reasons throughout India and thus disgraceful incident of physical assault
by catholics in the presence of PP is shameful.It is giving our adversaries
ocassion to gloat upon  on the internal conflicts within
