I do not know how much of the legend of King Arthur in the West and
Parshuram in India is fiction and how much is fact - it is beyond my
expertise and understanding.

But is the choice of Parshuram the right choice?

India is a country known for spirituality and the Upanishads and yet
Mr Subash Velingkar you want the people of Goa to choose a Brahmin
killer warrior as the patron saint of Goa? Be reasonable!

I am not a Roman Catholic nor do I belong to any other religion but in
my opinion he is not the right choice. Can’t we find someone who is
gentle and loving and accepting of all the religions and communities
in Goa?

I am agains colonialism and the forceful conversion of Christianity by
the sword around the world too.
How much in Christianity is fact and how much is fiction I do not know.

That Jesus is a historical figure is not proof his so-called miracles
are facts. In 2022 miracles do not stand up to close scrutiny!

The Brahimns are a priestly class and they themselves might feel
uncomfortable with Parshuram as he is a violent warrior (in fact or
myth I do not know) in short, a bad poster boy.

Also the vast majority of Hindus in Goa do no belong to the Brahman
caste and so they might not accept him. Why create a divide among
Hindus?

I respect you as an intellectual and even more as a man of integrity.
Please rethink your stand!

communal and religious harmony in Goa. Thank you.

All wars have wanton death and destruction, immeasurable pain and suffering, 
unfairness and hypocrisy. I think this war is different because of the

My take on Russian “invasion” of Ukraine

Since time immemorial, invasions/devouring has been happening and will continue 
in the future, so why so much uproar of present Russian “invasion” of Ukraine

It has always happened/will happen that the stronger will invade/devour  the 
weaker

Larger Animals will devour the weaker animals - Lions,Tigers, Cheetahs etc will 
devour deer, lambs, cows, buffaloes etc
Bigger fish will devour smaller fish etc

Stronger countries will invade weaker countries - stronger empires will invade 
weaker empires

Many of the present NATO countries (British, France, Germany, Portugal, Spain, 
Dutch etc.) have “invaded” ENTIRE CONTINENTS like The Americas, Africa, 
Australia, & large parts of Asia

Present day America has “invaded” many countries like Vietnam, Iraq, Syria etc 
& installed US friendly regimes with immeasurable collateral damage to 
civilians & property

Also India “invaded” & dismembered east Pakistan & created an India friendly 
Bangladesh

It is customary that if you are powerful you can create boundaries & define 
democracy, rebels/terrorists or freedom fighters

True But 'Real time' images can be biased too.
Ukranian soldiers demonstrated racial biases against the Africans and 
Indians...acc to some reports pushing/shoving them with their weapons and being 
very unpleasant. Threatening them too.
Treating them like animals..herding them in various directions.  We will never 
know the truth until after all this is over...for fear of other threats to 
non-white racial groups.
Mankind does not learn from its past errors.

Wars do bring out many variables in emotive behaviour!

The Goa government over the years has been needlessly squandering crores of
rupees on organizing road shows across the world to promote Goa as a
tourist destination. Instead, if the government had cared to improve the
crumbling infrastructure, Goa would have sold by itself. In the current
sordid state of affairs with garbage strewn all over even on the beaches
which are also infested with stray dogs and cattle, the high end decent
tourist will not care to step in.

To decongest our roads the government should have gone all out to improve
the public transport system in the State which would have encouraged more
people to use it.

The authorities must also look into the current pathetic state of our bus
terminals which act as an entry point for many tourists. Proper toilet
facilities should have been provided with the focus being on cleanliness
and all round sanitation. There is also a need of proper illumination for
the safety of passengers traveling after sunset and early morning.

Haphazard planning, improper sanitation and the uncontrollable stray animal
menace all over is projecting Goa in bad light. Besides, Goa now branded as
the gambling capital has become a very safe haven for the narcotic trade
and the flourishing menace of prostitution. The alarming increase in Crimes
has further made our once serene Goa, now a very unsafe destination.

THE issues of corruption, political divide
Polirisation  good governance are alive.
It is argued that he has lost his roots  and face in Bihar to be relevant
PK as a political strategist  has carved a niche for himself  and is wanted
to guide the destinies of many a political party
Looks like his exercise with Congress has had adverse effect on his smooth
run so far.West Bengal too has disagreed with his own professional approach
