Welcome back to the Board, JBP. Don’t know why you’re surprised that the Congress is considering welcoming a political traitor to its fold. Perhaps in the excitement of the common anger against the BJP and all its misdeeds, you have forgotten the era of massive corruption and stink of scandals during Congress government rule. I don’t think the BJP has reached that level yet. Short indeed are public memories when focused on the current buffoons. You may tell me that the Congress was as corrupt as the BJP but it was not that communal. Of course you will be right, but then to an outsider like me it involves pathetic choices. The only hope will be a decent person to head the Congress but in a party like that even a decent man soon becomes indecent. The new amendments and laws and more coming will go beyond loosening suits and ties and will involve taking off much more. When laws to prevent protection of the environment go for a toss it means the environment is dead meat and anything goes. The MLAs have undergone a deep religious experience and are willing to die for their insatiable greed - come what may! For this reason I say Goa is gone: zero!

MLA Carlos of Congress Party from Aldona constituency yesterday knocked me off my chair, and fortunately, this old man’s back did not break although my brain got hit by high voltage. A few days ago the MLA said it was fortunate the 8 runaway Congressmen escaped to the BJP as it is an opportunity to do a clean up. So far so good. As I said earlier, yesterday, he made a statement MLA Vijay Sardessai aka 16B a man of a formidable reputation for doing a major and blatant illegality should be invited to join the Congress Party. Unbelievable! I have nothing personal against Vijay as I don’t know him and never met him but his wrongdoing is known to people all over the state, and there is no need to explain it to anyone. I have met advocate Carlos once and follow his statements and analysis quite often, and know this much: he is well educated and articulate, and appears to be a man of character. His wanting to invite Vijay into the Congress Party has made me drunk with confusion even though I swear not a drop of our beloved cajun fenny has been imbibed. Is the latest Covid virus a threat to the Goan brain? Please explain!
[Goanet] RIBANDAR LOSES ITS TREASURED HOSPITAL
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and MLA Babush Monserrate have taken us for a ride by falsely promising us that at the Old Ribandar Hospital, a 30 bedded facility with a 24x7 Casualty cum Trauma unit equipped with all the required facilities would be set up and expanded in stages to be a fully-fledged Hospital. The Old Ribandar Hospital premises has been given away to a Tamil Nadu based company to set up Siddha Clinical Research Unit under the Ayush Ministry. Our Old Ribandar Hospital was Asia’s first medical school with a very glorious history and this priceless heritage structure needs to be preserved by restoring the premises as a full-fledged hospital. Medical facilities at the Old Ribandar Hospital would benefit not only a densely populated Ribandar but also neighbouring residents of Chimbel, Merces, Old Goa and the Island of Divar. The setting up of that cosmetic health centre on October 2nd last year was mere eyewash. Even in his manifesto at the Assembly elections held this year Babush Monserrate had promised full fledged medical facilities at the Ribandar Hospital but as expected has reneged on what was assured. What do his three Councillors who had blindly vouched for their Maestro’s words have now to say since our Ribandar Hospital has been doled away? Our health and well-being are our number one priority and nothing else is more important. As Mahatma Gandhi famously said, ‘It is health that is real wealth, not pieces of gold and silver’. Adv. [Goanet] ACCIDENTS ON HIGHWAYS DUE TO DISTRACTION OF ADVERTISEMENT BOARDS
Breaking news in Dona Paula today on 21st Sept morning around 13.00hrs this car was seen opposite the NIO colony/temple in flames and totally 100% burnt. Nothing is known so far its reasons. Glass pieces are all around the car. See the photograhs taken by me today itself. I have been stressing all the time the advertising boards must be restricted on highways which causes distraction to traffic drivers and the occupants in the car. These boards are seen fixed mostly on electric poles, compound walls and trees. I have attached few photograhs of these advertisements boards from Dona Paula to Panjim and Dona Paula to Bambolim both on highways.
