Re: [Goanet] Goanet Reader: Being Goan is a state of mind, more than a mere geographical accident (Tino de Sa)
Bravo Tino. There are people who babble because they cannot think of anything worthwhile to do and want to be noticed. Let it not be forgotten that Goans had to leave Goa for want of opportunity in Goa and wherever they pegged their tents, they contributed and left a noticeable mark. It is undoubted and undeniable that those who remained in Goa, many secured here by their ancestral provenances, have also created an indelible presence and mark that they passed this way too in this world. But those who had to go to other places in search of bread, if not butter, did well for themselves and left blazing trails. And many are coming back, like frogs to their pond or salmon to their spot of birth, when their out-of-Goa odyssey is successfully done. I am one of those. There is also a reason why I do not and cannot live in my ancestral house but then, that is no one else's concern but mine. U C D'Souza ucdmld at gmail.com
[Goanet] Your poll re the German girl
Actually, all the options given by you are valid in different measures but I can only vote for one! The point of this message is that most of the foreigners, with minimal exceptions, take liberties here which they would not dare in their own countries. And I am inclined to think that the reason they come here is not pure tourism or holiday but to get out of their home-country-straitjackets. They behave condescendingly towards locals and the postage stamp body covers they use on the beaches and just a little more in public are provocative to a human being with all senses, functions and urges intact. Those females should take their holidays in eunuch societies, if there are any. -- Ubaldo D'Souza 2F/T-1 Models' Meridien, 4th Floor Dr. Jack De Sequeira Road Dona Paula NIO P.O., GOA 403 004 Tel: 0832-246 5462 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mobile: 98221.85766 Skype: ubaldocdsouza
Re: [Goanet] BOOKSFROMGOA: Looking at Pilar, looking out from Pilar
Is there any 'one roof'' under which one can browse through and buy these books? Thanks.
