Beleivers are active in many parts of Goa. People demand Anti-conversion bill in Goa in a meeting. Many Hindu families from various villages in Sangem Taluka reported converted to Cristianity. In anything similar to Orrisa happen in Goa, Govt. should be held responsible. Satish Sonak inaugurated “We Love Ayurveda” seminar at International Centre Goa Dona Paula on Sunday May 24, 2009 organised by International Centre Goa and Taleigao Chess Academy in association with Bharat Swabhiman and Bhartiya Sanskrit Prabodhini Gomantak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya & Research Centre, Shiroda-Goa In his inaugural speech Adv. Sonak stress upon need to promote Ayurveda. He said that Goa Government spends around Rs. 78 lacs per MBBS students but 95 % of these students do not continue with Govt. service. Government should divert some of these funds in promoting Ayurveda and traditional medicines. Just like “DD Kosambi festival of ideas” Goa Government should promote “Dada Vaidya festival on Good Health” and Goan doughtier and great environmentalist and researcher Dr. Saradini Dahanukar should also be rightly honored. Dr. Vivek Shanbag Founder Director of GAYA-THRI(Goa Ayurveda & Yoga Academy+Total Health Resort, Navelim-Goa spoke on Introduction to Ayurveda. Dr. Nilesh Korde faculty Bhartiya Sanskrit Prabodhini Gomantak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya & Research Centre, Shiroda-Goa delivered his lecture on Globle Promoton of Health. Dr. Anil Panse faculty Bhartiya Sanskrit Prabodhini Gomantak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya & Research Centre, Shiroda-Goa, spoke on Panchakara. Shri Rajenda Amonkar from Pioneer Distributors, Panaji gave a good insight of current state and importance of Ayurveda in Drug industry. Shir Vinayak Khedekar Cultural& Social researcher from Goa told about state of ‘Vaidu’ at Portuguese times. He also elaborated importance of traditional medicines in different parts of Goa specifically how it differs from Seashore side and hilly region. Dr. Aashish Phake from Mumbai elaborately spoke about various research that are taking place in various parts of India and World in Ayurveda. More that 9000 units are registered with Central Council for Research on Siddha and Ayurveda a department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India he said. There is a bright future for Ayurveda not only in India and all over world. Dr. Suraj Kanekar was the moderator and vote of thanks by Convener Shrikant Barve. Dr. Das faculty at Bhartiya Sanskrit Prabodhini Gomantak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya & Research Centre, Shiroda-Goa explained medicinal value of plants sappling exibited at this occasion.
