This whole controversy is another example where Goans have a difficult time to
see beyond the tip of their nose.

The whole idea of a celebration (if one wants to term it such) would be for
socio-economic advancement of the natives - both Hindu and Catholic in Goa. If
Goans were smart, this event could be a bonanza-year for tourism to Goa from
Portugal and else where in Europe.  Why are the Brits so ga-ga about the
upcoming royal wedding? It is all about tourists pounds ... pounds ... pounds.

Similarly President Obama's recent visit to St. Xavier's college, Mumbai, would
have been utilized by other groups (including Indian) to maximum
advantage. Sikhs were very disappointed on the last minute cancellation of the
President's visit to Amritsar.

The alumni of SFX college should have started a fund and along with a matching
grant from the US state department have a new wing built onto the college for
the benefit of the next generation of Mumbai's residents, graduating from SFX
college.  It is still not too late for this effort.

and rot in the dung!
