CII Western Region Chairman Visit Hon'ble Governor and Hon'ble CM Panaji Goa : R Mukundan, Chairman CII WR along with Atul Pai Kane Chairman Goa State Council and Kirit Maganlal Vice Chairman Goa State Council, Kaushlendra Sinha Regional Director CII Western Region and Geetika Goyal State Head CII Goa called on Mr Bharat Vir Wanchoo, Hon'ble Governor, Goa and appraised him of the proactive work being done in the CII WR in partnership with State Governments of the Western Region. Mr Mukundan talked about the Initiation of Panjim Connect in Goa as an extension to the objective of CII of inclusion of people in Governance process. Mr Atul Pai Kane briefed on the details of the Panjim Connect. He mentioned about the trust and that core committee is formed by the CII Past Chairmen Vijay Hede, Dean Menezes and him. They will work on making Panjim pedestrian-friendly, creating awareness about parking areas and make people more aware on clean and safe surroundings. Governor added that safety is required along with decongestion in road traffic. The Culture of Goa is the USP where merry making is a must & should be included in the activities of City Connect. Kirit Maganlal briefed about the activities of Tourism Panel where CII is looking at training the frontline staff involved in tourist activities in soft skills. Governor agreed with Kirit and said that the image of Goa is in reverse to the reality. So a proper image building is required. He showed a concern on the unorganised manner of selling cruise boats, taxi hire charges and improvement in the services required in tourism like taxi, laundry etc. He also suggested of improving rail connectivity for tourism promotion and mentioned about his communication with Union Railway Minister regarding this issue. The team also called on the Hon'ble CM and R Mukundan the CM on the CII National Council meeting and Retreat being held in Goa this year in November. R Mukundan and Atul Paikane briefed the Hon'ble CM on the CII Agriculture panel and assured that CII will help the Government in the entire possible manner in improving the Agriculture in the state. Hon'ble CM said that main focus is dairy and animal husbandry along with farming. Free fertilizers can be given which can also be used to create energy. He emphasized on the employment skills in Agriculture. R Mukundan shared Tata's Aligarh model where 12th Fail students are taught on farming techniques. Hon'ble CM wanted CII to work on employability skill training. Mr Mukundan discussed Centres of Excellence in Gujarat, run in CII Office itself and about CII Skill Centre in Chhindwara Madhya Pradesh. Hon'ble CM assured all the assistance required in skill training for employability in Goa.
