Dear Mervyn,

I could not agree with you and your friends more. The remarkable
brinkmanship at this forum has stopped me reading/participating in
debates except those under the same subject-line of my posts or
from people I know are level headed. Sad, but true. And if confronted,
these very same Quixotes will not stop blaming the list administrators
who put in voluntary work, with great personal sacrifice as I can imagine,
to keep the list going, for the ills of their own making.

Rgds, v

Hi v,
Every-time I try
and convince them to contribute to Goanet, the reply I get goes along these
lines, You got to be kidding, if I contribute the only replies will be from negative
people who have too much time on their hands. This is a serious problem here
and is badly hampering the quality of net group we could have.

To my eternal regret, I now realise you are not just a wizard at finance but

I would have politely sought your collaboration and run a few pieces on the
Goan scatter under a joint by-line. Too late now.

Hi v,
Go easy with the compliments please. They are sort of embarrassing to me.
The only reason I answered your post is because, as each year goes by, I
realize that I am beginning to forget more and more of what I once knew.

Secondly, I know people here on Goanet who are only a generation or half a
generation ahead of me who have vastly more info than I do. Every-time I try
and convince them to contribute to Goanet, the reply I get goes along these

The icing on the cake is your story on the two Goan teachers in the royal
 palace in
Kathmandu! You reserved the best for the last. Why not share this with
 readers in Goa?

At this very moment, there are two people who have their fingers crossed and who
are thinking, I hope to the Lord that he keeps his big mouth shut. Which is
what
I will do. As teachers, I am sure they will  write their story when they are
ready.

You may find an answer to any Goan in the
kingdom of Jigme-Wagme Wan-chook (if I correctly remember the name of Bhutan's
royalty as pronounced by Delhi's Doordarshan newscasters.)

I hope we will hear a Goan story from Bhutan At this moment, North Korea is the
only
place where I do not feel confidence that any Goan has been to. As such, I am
inclined
to pay for a ticket to send our Mario there. Yes, a one way ticket.

Lastly, I am looking forward to your series on in-migration.
