New York Jews including the Orthodox and Ultra Orthodox are the most politically organized community in the United States. And since we are talking of the US, that is saying something.
Knowing this, every one wanting political office in the New York, New Jersey, Connecticut area, must get their active approval. New York's Jews however are open minded on most issues. They have helped New York's 700,000 muslims get organized to push their community issues. Previously the Muslims had no voice. For example when they were indiscriminately watched by police and other security agencies it was the Jews who raised their voices against these illegalities and profiling. It was the trigger for the Muslim community to start the coop process. There are many active and socially conscious Goans and non-Goans in Goa who have tried to organize themselves against the multitude of ills that beset the place, but eventually they seem to fall by the wayside divided by greed, external manipulation or ego. No better reason than to seek the help of the New York Jews for whom funding themselves for all expenses incurred on coming and staying in Goa during the time they help concerned Goans to organize themselves, would not be an issue. I think it would be a great opportunity for Floriano and the Goa Suraj who are primarily social changers before being merely just another political party, to seriously look into such co-operation.
