GOENKARANCHO EKVOT ORGANISES TIATRE IN NEW DELHI

5th October 2008, New Delhi: Goenkarancho Ekvot, a society of Goans from in and around Delhi, presented their annual "Tiatre" for the year in association with the Directorate of Art and Culture, Government of Goa, on 5th October at the Fr. Agnel High School auditorium all, Gautam Nagar, New Delhi.

The evening event was titled "Police" and was staged by the talented troupe of Mr. Agostino, a well known tiatrist (dramatist). The tiatre has run successfully upto 127 performances so far, taking its tally to 128 with this latest performance. The tiatre was attended in large numbers by Goans comprising individuals, families, priests and nuns, and other Konkani speaking people from in and around the National Capital, with family and friends lending a very jovial mood to the evening.

The event was hosted by Fr. Iris Furtado on behalf of Goenkarancho Ekvot. Before the programme would begin, a tribute to the nation was payed by way of a national integration song. Among other exciting events of the society that are coming up this year are the Annual Goa Festival of art, culture and cuisine in November. The Goenkarancho Ekvot is also involved in many other initiatves in the Capital region throughout the year.
