India's purchase of the gold is a commendable stratrategic move. It is a pity that India is exporting Iron Ore to China instead of using it for India's own manufacturing industries or holding it in reserve for when it is needed. Here again our politicians are at it. "Personal enrichment at whatever cost" as observed in Orisa and other states where forced land acquisitions and displacement of populations is carried out with brutal force in the guise of ridding India of terrorist Insurgents. Who are these insurgents? The poorest of the poor People who have lived on these lands from time immemorial who will not benefit in the least from these mining activities.
