My dear friends, A very personal New Year greetings to you all. May 2022 see better days for you and our Goa at large. A year fully loaded with happiness and new positive achievements. It is so enriching to start every day expressing my thoughts and views without fear or favour, while sharing it on social media with lakhs of people all over the world through Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter and other internet-based mailing lists. Your positive feedback has been most encouraging and makes this small daily contribution all the more worthwhile. If you like my posts please share it with all your friends and groups on which you are a member. We all have to encourage everyone, in particular the youth to express their views and opinions fearlessly and candidly. Learning as many languages as possible is an asset and must be encouraged. 2022 more than any other year is crucial for us as individuals and for Goa as we will be electing 40new MLAs who will form the next Government for the coming five years. We have to make the right choice and cannot afford another experiment of zero governance and failed promises which have ruined Goa over the last decade. Let us for once choose individuals of the highest integrity with a burning desire to serve the electorate and the common good and not for the lust of power for their own personal greed. A better future is just round the corner if we are prepared to grasp it with both hands. We will only reap what we sow! Let us remember the wise words of Mahatma Gandhi. ‘Be the change you wish to see in the world. A small group of determined and like-minded people can change the course of history!’ We have to stay united to Save our state from further destruction. Adv. Thanks to Parrikar who showed how the last day in that Horrible Year 2020 ..the Sun in its fury just sank into the Ocean :::Two then a whole host of people drew my attention to the article written by Freddy ...let me quote him::: have been celebrating catholic events with Jharkhand and Chhatisgarh states catholic for 20 years in New York City. They send me this video Archdiocese of Ranchi . An innovative way of celebrating Christmas Impressive even high dignitaries in the Church distributing food to hundred and hundreds .It was reminded me of the Miracle of the Seven Loaves and Two fishes...and the food waste was collected ...no littering of the Goa coastthan a cynic remarks that this was only for one day .so I agreed with the proviso that here in Tanzania ...every Friday...in nearly all the Mosques...there is free distribution of food for the needs on all Friday...54 of them per year That is really caring and carrying the burden of poverty.. :<<

While 2019 is here the currently comatose and headless Goa Government is on the wrong track at the very start. Despite so many burning issues grappling the State, it is so very appalling that a mere three day sham session of the Goa Legislative Assembly is being held at the end of January. This is a mere cosmetic exercise to only fulfill that constitutional requirement that the Legislative Assembly has to meet once in six months. Even the last two sessions were a sheer mockery. While in the Opposition, Vijai Sardesai and Rohan Khaunte were vociferously propounding for longer sessions of the Legislative Assembly, but now while so intoxicated with Power they are playing to a very different tune. We elect Legislators to debate issues concerning the people and to enact good laws. But our Ministers and MLAs are content inaugurating culverts and toilets while breaking a coconut at the hot-mixing of roads has become their hobby. It is an irony that many of our Ministers and MLAs struggle even in these short sessions to keep themselves awake during the proceedings of the Legislative Assembly. What a shame! In a way we deserve the crap that we knowingly elect. Happy New Year 2018 Midnight 31 December is usually one of the most celebrated occasions in the world. This year wil be 18 years since the start of the millennium and a new society for 18yr old Goan adults and the age of consent on our Planet Earth. Will this generation born outside Goa and the Goan community abroad ever know the value of family structure , Certainly in England I have observed their cross eyed and cross nosed Goan parents shun Goa and our community in preference to the mongrel or Chotara society around us scavenging for money feeling elevated and upgraded by fundraising events and Raffles in the name of Charity and community development when in actual fact its hand in pocket with no regulatory body to oversee these rich pickings from our proud Goan community that is nourished dance after dance. What has been achieved over the years may I ask? There is no right or wrong answer. Usually, this day is celebrated with close friends and family. But not everyone is fortunate enough to have their loved ones around. It is with compliments that 2018 will be brighter and peaceful than the one passed celebrating your Birthdate Anniversaries with good health and happiness to one and all. My colleague Valentino Fernandes (of SXC Bombay pedigree, no less) has been kinder to us all when he described the language we speak here as Konklish. Thus giving us the right to claim dialect-status and make others feel the odd-ones-out. Secondly, is being a 'tiatrist' a disqualification? If so, isn't that condescending? I might be a non-tiatrist and yet have a problem with expressing myself in clear English. Besides, given the fact that we often moan the loss of our culture, should we not appreciate the work done by tiatrists? Asst Prof Rafael Fernandes recently wrote a book, based on his PhD thesis, on tiatr and tiatrists! Lastly, English is a tricky language, and can take on different connotations depending on how we place our words: Unfortunately some of them have died and cannot meet us.
