Sadly women are treated as 'commodity' and this caste, sub caste
(gothra) is a big deal
in some regions. Also it is a matter of caste/community dis-honour a
female marrying out-side caste/religion. I am not surprised if child
marriage is still practiced. The Portuguese and the
Brits had to stop the cruel 'sati (suttee)' practice.
