Re: [Goanet] Invest to earn and save our ancestral heritage homes
Hi Vivek, Welcome onboard! Thanks for lending your support to this unique project to save our heritage. I share your thoughts and is of the same opinion. Trust me, I or rather we will it to keep it as transparent as any good organisation should be for its survival. Together as a TEAM we will make it as a living example whereby this upcoming project will serve as role model for others to follow. Its not the money that motivates me to pursue this project but sheer love for my GOA. My task is to bring people on board as equal partners and no one (including myself) will have absolute power over the organisation finances, irrespective even I may be the founding member. This project is by Goans for Goans no matter who you are , where you are or which religion you belong. All That matters is GOA! Not a Penney will be collected or ask until we have required 20+ member on board. With money follows devil and that is the destructive cause of every thing. So we as stake holders will have to put all procedures in place. Your word is as important as my word. I'm aware of the trust deficit but this we will overcome well before any of us transact money. I said it before and I stress it again this project must move forward with or without me. The goal is more important than the individual. Rest is assured. Re: [Goanet] Invest to earn and save our ancestral heritage homes
Dear Agnelo, I would like to be a part of it , but excuse me i may not want to answer all the questions but a few i can manage , the earlier you form a registered organization the better it will be from the view point of trustworthy, transparency, accountability, etc there could be many who want to be a part of this but since it is not a registered entity it becomes a bit dicey. It's just my opinion but kudos to you for this well thought positive idea. Rene knows me well too. Dear All Follow-up to my previous two messages some interesting facts come to light. During the past 15 days since my first message, I happy to inform I got 16 enquiries which I replied individually. Thanks to constant encouragement and guidance from my Friend Renne Barreto, I have just created a blog. http://goanheritagehomes.blogspot.com I hope to make it more interactive with the passage of time. Frankly, I am a novice and do not have much IT skills at hand. My main request was as below: Quote' But to give head start to this project at this stage we need; a) Individuals who can invest minimum 5 lakhs (minimum 5 years*) b) Property owners ready to lease property Full name Current Nationality Current residence Your Ancestral place in Goa Are you Investor? If yes, your investment commitment (in lakhs) ***Are you property owner? If yes, location of property Additional information of property (No’s of rooms, total house area, plot area, estimate value of the property). Contact information Telephone: Email ID Unquote I got this unique request seeking my bio-data/credentials. I am glad to share the same for the benefit of the individual and all other prospective business associates. My Name - Gabriel Agnelo Pinheiro (Gabriel - represent Angel Gabriel, Agnelo - Venerated Fr Agnelo D'souza (Pilar) Pinheiro - Pine tree ( characteristic of Pine Tree - It does not bend, one have to uproot it or cut it). My Education- I am learning. But just finished Most Basic Academics in operations management. Let me stress again, I only want to know if you are interested to be a part of the TEAM (Together everyone Achieve More) to pursue it further. The required number is 20 individuals with commitment to invest atleast Rs 5 lakh. I can assure, you will get better returns on your investment/money then keeping money in the bank. Additional benefits are many but most of all, You and I we will be able to do some thing good of Goa. Merely complaining and criticising the Government and politician will not bring any results. My appeal is more direct to NRG brothers who have stashed their hard earned money in bank to use it as investment tool to save our heritage that we had borrowed from our ancestors to preserve it for future generation. MONEY WILL NOT BE EXCHANGED UNTIL WE HAVE REQUIRED NUMBER OF PEOPLE ONBOARD AND ALL PROCEDURES ARE IN PLACE AS AN ESTABLISHED ENTITY. Lets us pledge and prove ourselves as DOERS and not mere TALKERS. We have to WALK the TALK hand in hand. For more info on me: http://www.facebook.com/agnelo.pinheiro http://goanheritagehomes.blogspot.com Warm regards, Agnelo Pinheiro BTW. Re: [Goanet] Invest to earn and save our ancestral heritage homes
Bhov Mogal Goykarano! At the outset, please accept my apologies if this request comes to you second time. It is not my intention to spam your mail box but to solicit your support to do something good for our beautiful Goa. Goa today is pleading for your help to save the treasures which we had borrowed from our forefathers. There are different forces that are working to destroy Goa; most of these forces are within us (Goans). My special request to all (specially NRG) to do some soul searching within ourselves and ask, what is it that Goa cannot do or achieve? We can do a lot (if we want) to bring in a change that we all want. There are many people that are working to save our ancestral homes, but success eludes them because there is no support from Government or civil society. Goa has suffered more in the last 25 years after attaining statehood then in the past, be it pre-liberation or post liberation. Let us not wait for the Government to save our treasures any longer as it will not happen any time soon. My firm conviction if we work together we can do a lot to save the remaining ancestral houses for generations to come. There is a huge potential to this concept 'converting heritage homes into holiday homes'. I request you to put forth this concept with your family/friends circle and start it in a small way. My sole aim is to promote this concept and make it successful. There are few (including foreigners) who are using this concept in Goa but not in totality as I suggested below. Involving local communities is very essential for greater success of any project. Community participation removes ill-will and promotes brotherhood besides creation of employment. Two years back I was in Venice Italy and was amazed to see the way 1000 years old ancestral properties are maintained with the income generated by 'converting heritage homes into holiday homes' As of date there are few who have expressed their interest and I thankful to them. I did do not get the overall desired response that I was expecting. However, I am still optimistic this concept will be successful with or without me. Let the cause be greater than individual. In this case the cause of saving our ancestral heritage homes is greater than me. I request to publish my below message dated 14th Aug to every Goan Forum/Media/Blog etc. Wishing all Goans10th World Goa Day! Let’s celebrate brotherhood and work together hand in hand to make Goa a better place. For sake of good order and coordination on this project, kindly reply only on Email ID goanheritageho...@gmail.com Viva Amche Goyem, Agnelo Pinheiro **- From: pinheiro Sent: Saturday, August 14, 2010 1:13 AM To: Agnelo Pinheiro Subject: Investment opportunity to earn and save our ancestral heritage homes. Dear Goans, Over the last few years we have seen many ancestral properties have changed hands. There could be many reasons why Goans are forced sell the properties to non-Goans. One major reason, people do not have resources for the upkeep of this properties. Many of us are shell shocked to see these heritage houses falling in wrong hands whose primary interest is to double the investment and then again sell it to the highest bidder. If we Goans think these ancestral heritage belongs to Goans than we have to come forward to save it for our future generations. Merely complaining and criticising will not bring any results. Hence I hereby appeal to all Goan brothers resident and non-resident to come forward to be a part of ‘one of its kind unique project’ to save our ancestral properties. This initiative is to restore the ancestral properties to its grandeur, showcase our Goan heritage to tourist, support local communities, create community wealth and many more. This is a proposal to convert ancestral properties into Goan Heritage homes managed by Goans with authentic Goan traditional touch. The main objective of this project i.To save ancestral properties. ii.Provide investment opportunities to Goans. iii.Create and provide job opportunities to Goans. iv.Create community wealth instead of individual wealth. v.Promote heritage tourism. vi.To involve local communities as partners in supply chain. The beneficiaries will be Goan sons of the soil (resident and non-resident) with no limit on people participation in this unique one of its kind project. However, there will be individual investment cap (minimum share and maximum shares) this will eliminate majority control by any individuals*. This will be People Partnership Project (PPP) and the contribution will be community based. The investors will
