Help other CONSUMERS to be better informed. ---------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- LPG consumers of Parra and Verla-Canca get united to form Consumer Forum to resolve problems. -------------------------------------------------------- LPG Consumers of Parra and Verla-Canca villages of Bardez Taluka are looking forward to better service in the New Year after their problems have got the attention of the Petroleum Companies, the District Collector and the Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs.
Fed up with irregular supply of LPG cylinders to the villages, Consumers of Parra and Verla-Canca have come together to form a Civic and Consumer Forum. LPG consumers of HP Gas and Bharat Gas were faced with varied problems related to the supply of their Gas Cylinders such as no home delivery, excess charges, non issue of bills, no mechanical checks by qualified mechanics but most of all delayed cylinder refills and non responsive Company officials. With the support of GOACAN, consumer volunteers held consultations, did a house to house survey of the situation and submitted a detailed memorandum to the Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs. The Director of Department of Civil Supplies Mr. G.P. Pilarnekar convened a meeting of the senior officials of the Petroleum Companies Sr. Regional Manager Mr. M. Vasanta Rao, HP Gas, Mr. S.K. Nair, Territory Manager Bharat Gas, Sales Managers Mr. A. Srinivasa Moorthy, Area Sales Manager, HPCL and M.S. Jamali, Asst. Manager, BPCL. LPG dealers operating in the area M/s Loja Porob, Mapusa M/s Kavlekar Gas Service, Saligao of Hindustan Petroleum, M/s Goa Gas Service and M/s Sadshill Gas Service Mapusa of Bharat Petroleum were also present. Details of improving supplies & service to the consumers of these villages have been worked out which includes booking for home delivery, domestic cards being stamped with Company Customer Care address, phone and email details and visits by qualified mechanics. LPG Safety Camps will also be organised in January & February in these villages to reach the LPG consumers with the help of the Consumer Forum. Mr. Greg D' Monte State Level Co-ordinator (SLC) for the Petroleum Companies for Goa State and Mr. Mihir Vardhan District Collector & Chairman North Goa District Consumer Protection Council have taken steps to follow up on the implementation of the action plan.
