Re: [Goanet] MORATORIUM on new mining leases
Dear Ms. Maranda, My prayers are with you, as you so bravely fight the injustice and the destruction of a beautiful piece of paradise. We see the natural splendor of God's creation and outsiders see 'rupee signs'. My heart is with all of you in this struggle. It is such an important struggle. My heart aches when I see the video of our villages crying out to stop this rape of our land. How can we allow this to go on? I couldn't watch the entire video as it was unbearable. May God bless you and all the people that work towards this struggle? Please let them know my heart is with all of them. I hope to join you-all in this struggle soon. [Goanet] Moratorium on new mining leases
Dear Goanetters May I once again request your cooperation and help in signing the PETITION on the MORATORIUM on new mining leases in Goa. The Petition to the Minister of State for Environment and Forest Mr Jaiaram Ramesh is just asking the Minister not to lift the moratorium on new mining leases till such time as the ministry has received and considered the environmental impact assessment and Goa's mining carrying capacity report of NEERI. If you really care about Goa, it is really very crucial not to miss this opportunity to make a difference to the way mining is being done in Goa. To read the petiton and sign up please just click on the link below in red , and follow the simple instructions. Takes a minute! http://goanvoice.org.uk/miningpetition.php Thanks for your help and cooperation. Carmen Miranda
Re: [Goanet] MORATORIUM on new mining leases
My dear Carmen, It has been a long time since you graced me with your, all radiant smile... pray grant me that now, even from our, slightly, antipodal stations. But, you are, for ever, in my heart for the mighty labours you invest in Goa. Though a bit tardy in responding your, present, campaign I most heartily support you and offer my "esforcos da alguma capacidade" in any way I can and may. I think the present agenda should also incorporate the River Princess debacle: That in, no way, a paisa of tax-payers' money shall be utilised to bail out the damned mine-baron, Anil Salgaocar, from the unjustifiable mess he has imposed upon Goa...even if it means uprooting the incumbent regime His, and their fall, will greatly help recover Goa from chronic sordidness that seems to have been bleatingly accepted. My apologies to the Salgaonkar family. Anil is destroying the good name & record that V. M. has left. I am all with you...for you and for Goa.all the way... [Goanet] MORATORIUM on new mining leases
Dear All The response from Goanetters to sign this PETITION so far has been very disappointing! YET IT JUST TAKES A MINUTE OF YOUR TIME ! Please do sign this PETITION and help us arrest the total destruction of Goa! Just click on the link below. After years of struggle against uncontrolled mining in Goa, we finally managed to get this MORATORIUM on new mining leases against all odds and all forces! However our chances of maintaining the current MORATORIUM long term on new mining leases should depend on the results of the report from NEERI, instead of the proposal from the Ministry of Environment and Forests, which makes it dependent on the new MINING POLICY which will practically take us back to where we were before - which is in the hands of the mining lobby. You can now sign a Petition to the Minister of State for Environment and Forest Mr Jaiaram Ramesh on http://goanvoice.org.uk/miningpetition.php The petition is not to lift the moratorium on new mining leases till such time as the ministry has received and considered the environmental impact assessment and Goa's mining carrying capacity report of NEERI. Thanks for your help and cooperation. Carmen Miranda
