SUB; MASS FOR THE SOUL The parish Priest of Panjim Immaculate Conception Church made the following announcement before the commencement of the Mass on 15th August 2013 on the Feast day of Our Lady of Assumption. 1. The Mass is offered for the soul of Antonio Jose Vaz and Nascimento Vaz. 2. Intention for the Feast of Our Lady of Assumption. 3. Intention for the Independence of our State of Goa. It is heartening to note that some priests take their own liberty to say the Mass for the soul, also on Christmas Day, and on Easter Sunday which is not correct. Bishop as well as Director of Old Goa Liturgical Centre should instruct their priests who disobey their instructions and offer masses for the souls on those above mentioned days.
