Edible nuts..

I think I was just about 7, when I first ate those nuts and we used to eat it
regularly.
As we were passing the road, it somehow reminded me of the
tree at the spot, we reversed back and the tree is till there. I even ate the
nuts
i.e. 57 years later. Which could mean the tree is atleast 100 years old

Don't know if anyone has ever seen or heard of this before

This is on the main road to Birla / Vasco and before Velsao Panchayat /Church

Petals or leaves with edible nuts on it

Extra:
There was a gironn ‘Willy-ighe gironn’ (flour.rice, oil  mill)  on other side
of the road
(It does not exist now).
The owner was more popular as ‘motte-potta Willy’ who also comes from a big
house
located at Velsao-Pale St. Estev Chapel

By the tree, there is very big Portuguese house ‘Frans-mari’ (Francis Marie?)
whose main facing towards the Railway tracks where there is a
cross erected on a pumpkin (see pic below house and passage partly seen)
In this house, I first saw a refrigerator which run on kerosene.
We used to travel here to sing Ladin or litany of Curacao Marie or St. Anna
every year.
In between the house and the tree there is a short road / passage to the
Railway tracks.

Teacher Miss  Aura (Braganza ?) of Portuguese Aula (Primary School) used to
reside
around here. She, for many years or until her death (2007?) was a
psychiatrist’s patient
Often seen in the streets with her best bridal outfits, a fashion model, with
hand bag,
gloves and a pipe cigarette in her hand. She had very good memory though i.e.
in 80’s she could recongnise and talk about 50’s

The next big house is ‘Masma-aton(io)’

The other side of the Tracks there are some old large houses too
E.g. Lucy Teacher or Paklo, Roldao etc
