[Goanet] Oh , Cannabis!

2016-04-22 Thread E DeSousa
Excerpts from the Washington Post  article:
"The Washington Post reports that the Canadian government announced Wednesday
that it will introduce legislation next year to decriminalize and legalize the
sale of marijuana, making Canada the first G7 country to permit widespread use
of the substance.
Full legalization will make pot available in a way similar to alcohol. That
could encourage Americans, particularly those in border areas, to pop over for
a puff or two. “Canada will be the first G7 country to have a national
recreational program different from Alaska, Colorado, Oregon and Washington,”
where state laws allowing marijuana use still bump up against U.S. federal
prohibition."

Comment:While the southern US  border will be  walled up and  locked up (If
Donald Trump has his way) the northern border may have to be made ready for a
major increase in traffic. Our friendly Goan people in Toronto can look forward
to another path to sossegado...

E De Souza,
Happily, this report is dated 4/20.
Do the numbers ring a bell or need I say more?

Mervyn
BTW, there are several companies on the Toronto Stock Exchange that have
been formed to supply users with just the strain of marijuana they require.
These companies promote themselves as being at the expansion stage of
liquor companies when prohibition ended. I believe they are correct. The
firms that will corner the market are those that will become colossuses in
the next few years. I can give you the names of the ones I think will be
victorious. This is not a free service.

Mervyn Lobo:

I see your remark about 4/20, but in another report dated 4/22 we learn from
the Washington Post that: "With a swipe of his pen this week, Mexican President
Enrique Peña Nieto proposed that Mexican citizens could legally possess up to
an ounce of pot. The day before, Canada’s health minister stood at a United
Nations podium and announced that her country would introduce new federal
legislation to make cannabis legal by next year."
Comment:
You may be right about all those newly formed corporations on the TSE.

E De Souza,
Anyone can grow pot. I am told it is a hardy plant and is easier to grow
than tomatoes.

What will produce the giant companies, is how the product is marketed and
distributed. Unfortunately, the people with the most experience in these
fields - are sitting behind bars. In other words, for the first time in the
west, lucrative opportunities are now opening for people with a jail
sentence on their resume :-)

What really annoys me is that we are going to have more impaired drivers on
the road. You and me will have to pay the price
