[Goanet] Old Goan Men with Internet facility

2017-02-21 Thread Bernado Colaco
I think the post by the young lady shows great disrespect to our seniors. It
would be interesting if she could contribute anything in terms of Goa culture,
food, travel, economy, migration etc to this forum.

Now, now Louise, I take exception to your characterization of old Goan men
with internet facility.? I am old (78 years), have and have had Internet
facility probably from its inception, AND I live in Goa.? I enjoy the postings
of Roalnd Francis, Marshall MendozaDr. Jose Colaco, Con Menezes?and others who
perhaps are not as geriatiic as I am.? I may not agree with all the postings,
and take many of them with a big grain of "mith", but I find them enlightening
and informative.? Wny are you so bitter about the postings on Goanet ?? If you
don't like them, you have the option of delete or bail out of this forum.? I
have been around almost from the inception of GoaNet and have seen various
"characters" come and go, some out of their own choice, and some having been
showed the door.? The moderators do a fairly good job to ensure that the
"crazies"do not take over this forum.Goanet has served the Goan diaspora well
for over two decades, and hopefully for many more years o come.

HaHaHa, you sure know how to hurt a guy, but it should be obvious that the
young ones and certainly the pretty ones do not linger on this forumof
course there is no way of knowing who it is that posts under assumed names.
Please carry on.

Subject: [Goanet] Old goan men with internet facility

Certainly there are some goanetters who need a life away from their computer
and goanet.
There are likely many other goanetters that have an interesting life but refuse
to share it on goanet.
Allow me to share a link I received about a program in Bay Area, San Francisco,
California.  The link sent to me for my interest was the Robot Camp for high
school children.  My granddaughter (Elizabeth) participated in this camp and my
son-in-law (Mark Fernandes) was one of the voluntary guides.  Enjoy the
magazine that has articles about life in South Bay Area.

[Goanet] Old goan men with internet facility

2017-02-19 Thread louisefernandez
It is a sad reality that goan men don't mellow. If they have access to a gadget
which is connected to the internet, they will use it to harangue one another
and anyone who attempts to put a toe in. Come on uncles. Retire gracefully. I
know its difficult. I also know its better that you take your irrascibility out
on the goanet than your wives if you managed to keep them, but find another
hobby. Roland Francis, you are not the only Indian/Goan in Toronto. I have
family who migrated legally (Jim Fernandes). They did not use any tricks and
worked honestly and now have their own businesses. I personally dislike Modi
and would prefer to live in a country that does not have dictators
(Modi/Trump). I am Indian because my husband loves India/Goa. We (my daughter
and I) do too, but we would prefer better governance. Old Goan men with
internet accessable gadgets should access other more interesting sites. And
please Con Menezes, I could post links ad nauseum but I have a life. Get one.
Yourkids/grandkids have no time for you? Sad, but we need to get on with life.
