CII Goa Programme on Service Tax 

'Recent Changes and Decisions in Service Tax'

Service tax has become the fastest growing tax in the country and it being
treated as a tax of the future.  The legislative provisions of service tax
have seen some changes in recent times and the Union Budget for the current
fiscal year has also announced several changes on service tax. There have
been a plethora of decisions in the area of service tax by various Tribunals
and Courts and these have a significant bearing in respect of taxability,
valuation, cenvat and other issues. It is necessary for trade and industry
to be conversant with the legislative changes as well as recent decisions so
that they can be compliant on service tax matters considering the fact that
the penalties for non compliance are significant. It is also essential to
appreciate the impact of these changes on business plans, vendor contracts,
customer agreements etc.

 

CII Goa is organizing a one day programme to discuss the recent changes
including changes introduced by the Union Budget in Service tax and also
deal with some recent decisions in the context of service tax.

 

This Programme is relevant and useful for all those working in the areas of
Finance, Accounts, Supply chain, Procurement and key functional executives
handling service tax, who grapple with service tax complexities will benefit
by attending the programme. However it is not a restricted Programme and
hence individuals or students interested in gaining knowledge on indirect

FCMA who is a consultant in Indirect Taxation and has around 25 years of
