The movie is based on the 1998 novel by Giles Foden, which was named for one of the many grandiose titles Amin bestowed upon himself. But neither the book nor the film come close to illuminating the horror of life in Uganda under Amin's reign, a Keizer couple said. "My problem is that people who read the book or see the film may not be able to separate fact from fiction," said Jean Sequeira, who, with her husband, Jack, served as a missionary for the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in the countryside near Kampala, Uganda, from 1965 to 1972.
