Ah, I see I was right in making an rc first. :)

Ok, rc2 is available in the same place. Please test.

I tried booting the 014.01 LiveCD with an external USB cd-drive, it
worked fine even though the xorg conf file needs to be tweaked to get
the right 1024x600 resolution of the Eee PC 900.

I really miss the gobolinux filesystem hierarchy and don't like the
xandros/debian package management..

Now the question is how to get wifi, webcam and hotkeys to work. Perhaps
one can use the original kernel provided with the xandros-Eee OS? I
wonder if it's the kernel that makes it boot so incredible fast? Also I
think there is other Eee specific xandros packages one could use..

I'm thinking of an icewm + ROX-Filer desktop. (I'm using OroboROX on
this machine but icewm has a nice built in tasktray and system tray and
is lightweight..)

Hi Jonatan,

Carlo made an announcement of a LiveFlash edition created especially
for his EEE pc, righ after the release of 014:

http://lists.gobolinux.org/pipermail/gobolinux-devel/2008-January/003113.html

He might have improved that edition since then, though. Carlo, do you
have any unpublished changes for LiveFlash since that announcement?

Wait. I tried to compile Htop and I've got the following at configure time:

configure: line 5862: test: =: unary operator expected
configure: error: Cannot find /proc/stat. Make sure you have a
Linux-compatible /proc filesystem mounted. See the file README for
help.

This doesn't happen with the outdated version I have in my other PC, though.

No, don't wait! It was a patch which I happened to have in my local
recipes tree for Htop. The problem was not related to the Scripts nor
to Compile pre-release.

[gobolinux-devel] [ANNOUNCE] Scripts 2.9.4, Compile 1.11.2

2008-07-30 Thread Michael Homer
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Hello,
We are pleased to announce new releases of both Scripts and Compile.
These are principally bugfix releases. There are also improvements to
ContributeRecipe and RecipeLint to warn at an earlier stage about non-
standard recipes, and extra validation for packages to avoid a
potential security flaw.

These new versions are available via `InstallPackage Scripts 2.9.4` and
`InstallPackage Compile 1.11.2`.

The full changelog follows at the end of this message.
- -Michael
