Hello,

I can also confirm that my clients app is also super slow. We are using
Play Framework and it works ok. But there are few days when it's loading

I demand some answers why it's working so slow!

[google-appengine] Number Found Accuracy on Search API Affecting Cursor Results

2013-03-04 Thread Brent Yates

When using the google app engine search API, if we have a query that
returns a large result set (1000), and need to iterate using the cursor to
collect the entire result set, we are getting indeterminate results for the
documents returned if the number_found_accuracy is lower than our result
size.

In other words, the same query ran twice, collecting all the documents via
cursors, does not return the same documents, UNLESS our
number_found_accuracy is higher than the result size (ex, using the 1
max). Only then do we always get the same documents.

Our understanding of how the number_found_accuracy is supposed to work is
that it would only affect the number_found estimation. We assumed that if
you use the cursor to get all the results, you would be able to get the
same results as if you had run one large query.

Are we mis-understanding the use of the number_found_accuracy or cursors,
or have we found a bug?

Hi Takashi, thanks for the quick response!

I don't use any parent keys at all, AFAIK. I use Gorilla Toolkit (similar
to Tipfy) for sessions: https://github.com/gorilla/sessions

This is the GAE wrapper Rodrigo Moraes wrote for

I will refer Rodrigo to this thread, and I will purge the Session entites

Once we resolve the issue, as long as there are no entities with bad keys

[google-appengine] Appengine making a scripted static route active in a non scripted static route domain

2013-03-04 Thread Sadaf Noor
In appengine I have mapped '/' directory for static folder editing my
app.yaml. Now the problem it raised is that it can't recognize my other
routes (for eg: /blog/.json) which I am configuring via my python script.
If both of the route were scripted in python then moving a route up and
down could have solved this problem but here apparently I can't do that. So
what can be done?

main.py

app = webapp2.WSGIApplication([('/blog/.json', jsonBlog)], false)

app.yaml

- url: /

[google-appengine] Re-publicising the DataNucleus-AppEngine issue tracker

2013-03-04 Thread Ian Marshall
Should this issue tracker (at
http://code.google.com/p/datanucleus-appengine/issues)
be re-publicised on the Google Developers GAE home page?

The sole issue tracker that I can see linked on that page is the
GoogleAppEngine issue tracker. I am fairly sure that the DataNucleus-
AppEngine issue tracker used to be mentioned too. Is it depreciated as
far as users are concerned?

Re: [google-appengine] Re: My indexes seem to be stuck Building (2 weeks)

2013-03-04 Thread Johnson
Thanks Takashi, I appreciate it!

Rodrigo is normally very helpful, so hopefully he'll have time and we can
figure out what happened. In the meantime, I've removed Sessions from my
app.

Hi Takashi, thanks for the quick response!

I don't use any parent keys at all, AFAIK. I use Gorilla Toolkit
 (similar to
  Tipfy) for sessions: https://github.com/gorilla/sessions

This is the GAE wrapper Rodrigo Moraes wrote for it:
  http://godoc.org/code.google.com/p/sadbox/appengine/sessions

I will refer Rodrigo to this thread, and I will purge the Session
 entites
using Datastore Admin (Viewer fails with Server Error A server error
 has
  occurred.).

Once we resolve the issue, as long as there are no entities with bad
 keys in
the datastore, will index building commence/continue normally, or do I
 have
to come back here to request a reset?

Please let me know when you resolve the bad keys.

  Hi Johnson,

I checked the logs and found that the cause is invalid utf-8 strings
in the keys of some of your entities, specifically with the kind
  'Session'.
  Here is the similar case:
  https://code.google.com/p/googleappengine/issues/detail?id=8600

Do you put parent keys on those entities? If yes how?

[google-appengine] Instances keep shutting down

2013-03-04 Thread Kiran Nanisetti
My app id is cityvertical (HRD)
Most of today 3/4/2013 (not sure if this happened yesterday) instances kept
shutting down very quickly (probably withing a minute)
Earlier in the day, the system status reported issues with the task queue.
I have seen this issue being reported often when the task queue status was
not green.
Please let me know if you need more info.
Thanks

Just watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vuW6tQ0218

Whenever you hear Dead Parrot, in your mind think Dead Instance.

It is a very accurate representation of Google's response to this issue to
