[google-appengine] Re: Google Cloud Platform wants to hear from you

2016-01-11 Thread Juan Juarez
Hello Katie,

I am new to the Google App engine. I have been trying to learn to use the
GAE for about a week now and i've had some trouble getting off the ground.

I am not a seasoned developer, but i was able to follow along with the
google apps script docs much more easily.

This might seem like a trivial problem for most here, but i have yet to
understand how to upload an app to the GAE.

There's a line in the hello world tutorial that says to invoke this
command: "appcfg.py -A YOUR_PROJECT_ID update helloworld/". How do I invoke
this command? Should I invoke it in the GAE Launcher? Should I invoke it in
windows' command prompt? Somewhere else?

>From a novice's standpoint this seems to be a big barrier of entry...

>From all of the research that I've done on databases the Datastore sounds
great for what i'm trying to accomplish, but I need to find better
documentation on how to use it.

Re: [google-appengine] Re: Having lost all my data

2016-01-11 Thread timh
Any bot could have done crawled /setup on your site.

Such a handler should have at least been protected with admin required
permission.

If the handler has been there for some time then it was always a ticking
time bomb.

I would say your lucky it hadn't happened earlier.

I didn't read Jeff response as being angry, just stating the facts.

Schnitzer,
I did'nt misconfigured anything.
You don't need to be so angry if you don't read my posts :
Google killed me as far as Google bot crawled /setup relative link which is
pointed by nothing on the net (according to Google itself).
Google killed me introducing its dagger in a vulnerability of Vosao which
was the only CMS working in Java GAE Platform.

and you ? are you a killer too ?

well, Google just killed me !

Juan, in the beginning, the easiest way is to setup GAE Launcher (the name
might have changed, it's the Java/Python/etc. SDK) - create a project from
there, and upload from the program

[google-appengine] Re: Use logging in my GAE project

2016-01-11 Thread Adam (Cloud Platform Support)
Yes, you're right. The levels listed are from the Python SDK, not the Java
SDK. I've submitted a request to have this corrected (you can also do this
by using the 'Send feedback' link on any of the documentation pages). For
reference the correct levels
 are:

SEVERE
WARNING
INFO
CONFIG
FINE
FINER
FINEST

I spent some time tonight with Cloud Trace. It seems very promising but I could

[google-appengine] Re: Updating the dispatch file do not work

2016-01-11 Thread Zeehad (Cloud Platform Support)
There currently isn't a way to see the dispatches from the console.

What happens if you try to access http://dokcloud-1069.appspot.com/dfe/ ?
The current dispatch rule is matching */dfe/* (with an ending slash) only.
You may have to change it to the following:

 */dfe*
 site-dfe

Considering all modules are working fine individually, please also make
sure that the dispatch file is uploaded correctly

Hi

for an unknown reason, when I click "Task Queues" on developer console I
see "Failed to load" and nothing else.

It's been a while since I don't login to check (the app was and is working
perfectly fine) but I need to check the queues now.

Anyone can help?

There are other facts that you are able to read.

Any bot could crawl this relative url if it is pointed.

But Google itself says it does not exist. So why dit it crawl it ?
