[google-appengine] Re: Is it possible to setup HHVM PHP runtime on google app engine?

2019-04-03 Thread diogoalmeida via Google App Engine
HHVM is not supported on the native PHP runtime for App Engine, however,
you can use custom runtimes

on Managed VMs to install and run HHVM. This

document goes over more details on how to use an alternate implementation
of App Engine flexible environment.

Thank you for using Google Groups.

I do not believe you have filed this in the correct group as this thread is
related to one of our Cloud products called App Engine.

In regards to your inquiry, I was able to find the support channel for

[google-appengine] Re: Google App Engine High Availbility

2019-04-03 Thread diogoalmeida via Google App Engine

Hello.

App Engine is regional [1]
 and the app should be
available across all zones within the region you choose. However, it is not
possible to change the app region after you set it.

App Engine does not have the same high availability mechanism present in
Cloud SQL, so, you would need to build your application with that in mind.
That said, I recommend that you review the following topics which will help
you decide the best approach to deploying an application on the Google
Cloud Platform.

-- Take into account the App Engine SLA, especially the downtime period [2]
. If the SLA is still not
appropriate for your use case, it might be necessary to change the strategy
and use Compute Engine instead. That would allow you to create cross-region
load balancers and forward the traffic to instances in two different
regions in case of a region downtime [3]

[4]
.

-- As per this document [5], instead of using microservices, where all
services are deployed within the same application in one single region, you
could deploy multiple services in different App Engine project. However,
check the benefits and drawbacks of this strategy here [5]

.

-- I also recommend to review how instances are managed on App Engine
Standard [6]

and Flexible environment [7]

.

[google-appengine] Re: GAE firewall + VPC firewall configuration

2019-04-03 Thread ykarout via Google App Engine
Currently, allowing specific GAE services is not supported. I was able to
find an open Feature Request
for this. I recommend starring the issue link to receive email updates.

Allowing app deployment requests is not currently available for flex.
Please see these workarounds

posted on Stackoverflow by a member of Google Cloud Support for alternative
solutions.

Regarding cron and task queues, as you mentioned, these don't need specific
rules as they are allowed even when the default rule is set to deny.

[google-appengine] Re: installing trouble

2019-04-03 Thread 'Nicolas (Google Cloud Platform Support)' via Google App Engine

Hi,

As your issue seems to be a specific technical issue you would have better
assistance from the community by posting in StackOverflow
 as
Google Groups is intended for general discussion. You should post to
StackOverflow with extra log information to have the developer community
assist you.

[google-appengine] Re: AppEngine Flex - Correct Firewall Configuration For Inter-Service-Communication

2019-04-03 Thread 'Nicolas (Google Cloud Platform Support)' via Google App Engine

Hi,

Thanks for the screenshots! I’ve reproduced this and was able to confirm
that if you switch the App Engine Firewall rules to “Deny All” and then try
to granularly allow some IP address the app will return 403s.

This is most likely due to the internal App Engine infrastructure so I
would recommend IAP as your best current solution to communicate between
GAE services.
