The interface with the push notification server is made by opening a

 ssl and a custom certificate.
Unfortunately this will be a free application so i can't afford to pay
to Urbanairship (that offer web APIs) for each notification I send.
At the moment my only idea it's deploy a bridge somewhere outside
the cloud to do this, but I really don't like it...

 Any idea or workaround ?

For everything you can import pictures and videos from flickr picasa

I had to build a full authentication system for that reason, because

 Quoted from the

Once the user has signed in or created a Google account, the user is
redirected back to your application. The app provides the redirect URL
to the method that generates the sign-in URL.

I have tested this in my app, and the user is not redirected back to
the app after creating a google account. After creation of the google
account (after pressing the button marked, I accept. Create my
account.), the user is directed to a a verification link has been
sent to your email, please check your email page.

After opening the users email, and clicking the verification link, the
user is also not redirected to the app.

I believe that this behavior is not good to apps, since users have to
manually go back to the app after creating a google account. For apps
that target novice internet users that don't have existing google
accounts, the create account process has to be very streamlined.

By the way, an additional create_account_url() function to the Users
 service could also be handy.

[google-appengine] Re: About the sender field of mailservice in GAE

2010-03-15 Thread Aurelian
In your domain you need to define nore...@myowndomain.com email
address, then add it to Appengine Dashboard under Developers.
When you see that email Active, because you accepted the invite by
email, then you'll be able to set Sender in your app with that email.

 Hi all,

Would like to have your professional advices on the situation I am
 facing.

I would like to use the nore...@myowndomain.com as a sender to send
the email, is there a way to configure?

 as what google said:
 ~~
For security purposes, the sender address of a message must be the
email address of an administrator for the application, the Google
Account email address of the current user who is signed in, or any
valid email receiving address for the app (see Receiving Mail). The
message can also include a reply to address, which must also meet
 these restrictions.

If you want to send email on behalf of the application but do not want
to use a single administrator's personal Google Account as the sender,
you can create a new Google Account for the application using any
valid email address, then add the new account as an administrator for
the application. To add an account as an administrator, see the
Developers section of the Admin Console.
 ~~

I have tried to invite nore...@myowndomain.com in the Developer
session inside GAE admin panel, it seems that only gmail a/c can be
 invited.

So, wondering is there a way to allow me using the own
email(nore...@myowndomain.com) as sender and send mail using GAE's
 MailService?

Appreciate for your help in advance.

 Cheers,
 Russell
