Hey Jeff,

Thanks for venting, this is a vicious cycle that needs to be fixed. We've
addressed several issues that land people in the 'Free' = 'Activating...'
= 'Free' bucket. These fixes will be rolled out with 1.6.5.

Next? Look into speeding up Checkout all together.

[google-appengine] Google Checkout + Credit Card Fees

2011-09-05 Thread Nikolai
Hey everyone.

Is there a possibility to change the billing behavior in Google App
Engine. With our account App Engine currently bills every week from
our credit card. Because our business is in Germany this is an
international payment wich costs at least 1.50 € per billing.
This makes a total of 6€ every month (72€ a year) for ... nothing.
I havent found a way to pre-charge the Google Checkout Account and I
can't think of any other way to solve that problem from here.
As I see it this fee makes Google App Engine more expensive and
neither Google nor us have got any advantage from that payment. It is
just the banks making more money (and I thin they have got
enought :) )

Regards,
Nikolai

[google-appengine] Google Checkout + App engine stinks

2011-04-16 Thread Daniel
Every single time I try to up my quota, and pay a bit more for
appengine, google checkout messes up and I have to wait 30 minutes to
even attempt again. Granted most of my problems lie in the fact that
I'm using a google apps account. My most recent attempt was thwarted
when google checkout redirected me to combine a personal and google
apps account, locking up appengine again and apparently deleting my
google checkout account. So now I have an application over quota
linked to a non-existent google checkout account and I can't do
anything for 30 minutes.

Seriously, there has to be a better way to deal with billing. I don't
think I have ever seen an online application that had a 30 minute
waiting period every time you made any attempt to change billing
(especially the numerous failed attempts I'm riddled with). I have
ended up stuck in this ridiculous waiting period at least ten times
and I don't think it's user error, rather flawed design on the app
engine teams part.

[google-appengine] Google Checkout with GAE?

2010-03-27 Thread bvelasquez
Recently, has anyone had success integrating GAE with Google Checkout
and Subscriptions using a Python wrapper? I looked at gchecky but see
no example of integrating that with GAE or the beta subscription
option. I'm searching for an example implementation before I dive in
and figure it all out for myself and am hoping someone here has had
some experience with this.

Thanks in advance,

Barry

[google-appengine] Google Checkout Rate Your Experience emails

2009-08-27 Thread Ben Nevile

Hi,

Is there any way to get Google Checkout to stop sending me Rate your
shopping experience emails? I've answered them, but they keep
coming. I have a handful of apps and each of them generates a
checkout charge once a day, which means I get a handful of rate your
shopping experience emails every day.

Ben

[google-appengine] Google Checkout for international merchants

2009-06-15 Thread Thomas Wiradikusuma

Hi guys, I know this is not the right place to ask, but I'm sure some
developers using AppEngine are interested with this too.

I wanted to register a Checkout account, but my country is not listed.
Given that AppEngine+Checkout pretty much a match made in heaven for
ecommerce platform, how do international merchants subscribe to Google
Checkout?

To put it another way, what cloud/outsourced ecommerce solution
(beside PayPal) do you guys (planning to) use with AppEngine?

[google-appengine] google checkout button

2009-03-12 Thread hugo.goul...@gmail.com

I want to use Google checkout to sell a license key. The html code of
the google checkout button looks like the code below,

form action= ...
input name=item_name_1 value=Software license key type=hidden /

...
input name=shopping-cart.items.item-1.digital-content.key
value=0588-8462-1638-9200 type=hidden /
...
/form

The problem is that the user can see the license key without buying it
by checking the web page source from his browser.

Using Google App engine, how can I send the Google Checkout button
information without showing it in html code.
