yeah!.. we have multiple nice news there..

https://gaeforphp-blog.appspot.com/2013/06/14/announcing-the-google-app-engine-wordpress-plugin/
https://gaeforphp-blog.appspot.com/2013/06/13/whats-new-for-php-in-the-app-engine-1-8-1-release/
https://gaeforphp-blog.appspot.com/2013/05/26/setting-up-phpmyadmin-on-app-engine/

believe me? GAE-PHP seems to me more fast than GAE-Java, GAE-Python (to
starting)
less latency on Google Cloud SQL ?

Also, we'll be updating this blog on a fairly frequent basis until PHP goes
GA:

https://gaeforphp-blog.appspot.com/

There are already some tips related to WordPress there. And of course the
blog itself runs on WordPress (btw, I believe the WordPress folks are quite
particular about using a capital 'P').

cheers,
Peter

..really PHP is a language with quite a presence in the web development
world .. and a lot of opensource projects very interesting like Wp, Elgg,
Drupal, Magento and others, now they will can to run within GAE platform
without major changes.. I think is a great news

imo, web is full of php-based junk, now their job will be much easier, not
good news for me :)

more details here:

Hi to all..

I knew a project from 2009 who did it :..
and now.. that project is updated and your face is better..

http://blog.caucho.com/2012/12/06/quercus-on-google-app-engine-20/

its source :
https://github.com/diablonhn/quercus_on_gae_2

demo :
http://wordpress-on-quercus-2.appspot.com/

Quercus is a very efficient library to
implement PHP on Java server.. I've tested it and used it on Tomcat and
Jetty servers (GAE SDK for Java). This is part of the Resin server and ypu
can view about this here : http://www.caucho.com/

my tests about :
Quercus: JavaWeb projects working with PHP on Tomcat
server
Quercus: GAE-JavaWeb projects working even with
PHP
,

(language : ES, with translate option)

RE: [google-appengine] Re: Wordpress + AppEngine = PressEngine

2012-09-10 Thread Drake
The WP for Appengine is poorly optimized. I run several WP installs with
Appengine as a Page Level Cache/Proxy in front of them, to make them scale very
affordably, but that is for sites doing millions of visitors a month not 100s a
day.

Wonderful information, thanks a lot

Scalability-wise and cost-wise can you make a basic analysis?

If I had to guess I would say costs would be higher than regular hosting (cheap
server manual hosting), and is Cloud SQL scalable?

I think it is straightforward, just 2 Java class files and some
standard configuration in appengine-web.xml and web.xml

And source code is included in the download file.
