The number is only used once to initially verify the account. You dont
need to change it to keep it current.

As you say you can see your list of apps, so have no further use for
SMS verification.

I am also having problems. The pathway to enter my SMS code is always going 
via the "enter mobile phone page" with the only option being to press the 
"submit" button.  consequently I have been locked out for sending too many 
SMS.  Can you provide links to the enter code page so that I can use the 
Code that was SMSd to me or do I have to start again..
