As a safeguard against caches, it's a common practice to reference your CSS and JavaScript files like this Most browsers and proxies should respect cache policies, but this is an almost foolproof way of doing it. Hi all, Is there any way to tweak or add a static file (such as a .css file) using without redeploying the whole application. I do not mean from inside the servlet engine - I understand why this is not allowed. I mean, does the deployer have a 'light-weight' mode that will allow it to 'zap' the present deployment static file. It seems overkill to redeploy the whole application just to modify one or 2 characters in a .css file.
