Was the Lightweight Collections in GWT effort killed off?

2011-09-12 Thread Blackberet
I'm referring to what is described
at http://code.google.com/p/google-web-toolkit/wiki/LightweightCollections

Was this effort killed off?

If not, where can I get the most current version?
Is the code in the lwc-gwt-migration branch the latest?
Can anyone recommend the LWC code in that branch for client code as it
stands today?

I find myself with a UI with many instances of java.util.HashMap
and java.util.ArrayList and was wondering if replacing them with their LWC
counterparts would payoff in a reduction of memory usage on the client.

thanks

When will the gwt maven plugin be updated to match gwt-2.3

Re: When will the gwt maven plugin be updated to match gwt-2.3

2011-05-04 Thread Blackberet
Please don't mistake a suggestion for improvement by a consumer of
your technology as a criticism.

I feel fairly confident that a significant percentage of users that
consume GWT also consume the other three pieces of this stack as well.
I understand that Guice can be consumed separately without the
slightest dependence on GWT.

The other two pieces of this stack, GIN and the GWT Maven plugin have,
in the past, caused compatibility problems, if not outright failures
in builds. I understand that the GWT releases come first, and that the
others are not your concern. It would facilitate my planning, and that
of other developers, if you and the owners of the other three projects
were to schedule release trains periodically. We could then plan for
technology stack updates as part of our development lifecycle.

On May 4, 4:03 pm, David Chandler drfibona...@google.com wrote:

 Google doesn't maintain 3 of the 4 projects; however, we generally post the
 beta announcements on the GWT blog a week or more in advance. If there's
 something more we can do to notify the other projects, I'm all ears.

How do you create a CellTable Column with a Composite Cell with two ClickableTextCells?

2011-03-22 Thread Blackberet
I think I have this much correct;

ListHasCellProjectDetails, ? aHasCells = new
ArrayListHasCellProjectDetails, ?();
aHasCells.add(
new HasCellProjectDetails, String()
{
private ClickableTextCell cell = new
ClickableTextCell();

@Override
public CellString getCell()
{
return cell;
}

@Override
public FieldUpdaterProjectDetails, String
getFieldUpdater()
{
FieldUpdaterProjectDetails, String
fieldUpdater =
new
FieldUpdaterProjectDetails, String()
{
public void update(final int index,
final
ProjectDetails object, final String value)
{
Window.alert(LEFT);
}
};
return fieldUpdater;
}

@Override
public String getValue(ProjectDetails object)
{
return object.getId() + ;
}
});

aHasCells.add(
new HasCellProjectDetails, String()
{
private ClickableTextCell cell = new
ClickableTextCell();

@Override
public CellString getCell()
{
return cell;
}

@Override
public FieldUpdaterProjectDetails, String
getFieldUpdater()
{
FieldUpdaterProjectDetails, String
fieldUpdater =
new FieldUpdaterProjectDetails,
String()
{
public void update(final int index, final
ProjectDetails object, final String value)
{
Window.alert(RIGHT);
}
};
return fieldUpdater;
}

@Override
public String getValue(ProjectDetails object)
{
return object.getProjectLink();
}
});

and then create the composite like this;

CompositeCellProjectDetails compositeCell =
new CompositeCellProjectDetails(aHasCells)
{
@Override
public void render(Context context, ProjectDetails
value, SafeHtmlBuilder sb)
{
sb.appendHtmlConstant(tabletbodytr);
super.render(context, value, sb);
sb.appendHtmlConstant(/tr/tbody/table);
}

@Override
protected Element getContainerElement(Element parent)
{
// Return the first TR element in the table.
return
parent.getFirstChildElement().getFirstChildElement().getFirstChildElement();
}

@Override
protected X void render(Context context,
ProjectDetails value, SafeHtmlBuilder sb,
  HasCellProjectDetails, X
hasCell)
{
CellX cell = hasCell.getCell();
sb.appendHtmlConstant(td);
cell.render(context, hasCell.getValue(value), sb);
sb.appendHtmlConstant(/td);
}
};

I don't know how to get the values from each of the cells in the
composite into the render method?

Then this part had me totally confused; How do I add a Column composed
of these cells?
This doesn't work;

ColumnProjectDetails, String compositeCellColumn =
new ColumnProjectDetails, String(compositeCell)
{
  @Override
  public String getValue(ProjectDetails object)
  {
  return object.getId() + ;
  }
  };
table.addColumn(compositeCellColumn, COMPOSITE);

Is there an event or something I can catch after a CellTree has completely rendered it's children to the DOM?

2010-12-15 Thread Blackberet
I have a CellTree in a ScrollLayoutPanel.
I really need to be able to scroll a cell into view when it is
selected.

I have two ways of selecting a cell; directly by the user, and
indirectly with a next/previous node button.
When next is clicked and the next cell is not visible in the the
ScrollLayout, I want to scroll that cell into view.

I have id's on all the cells so I should be able to do a;
DOM.scrollIntoView(selectedTopicElement);
but I need to do that after the tree finishes rendering.

Any thoughts on how to do this?

Re: Shift+TAB in CellTree must be hit twice to change focus?

2010-12-13 Thread Blackberet
Could be on my end.

In my cell tree instance. Tab is moving the selection down to the next
open node in the tree. Shift+Tab is not moving it to the previous node
in the tree.

I tested Shift+Tab on the Gwt Showcase and that didn't highlight the
previous node either. I did not test the Showcase example using Tab
traversal. I have tested it out now and it does not traverese to the
next item in the tree.

If what I perceive to be correct behavior, is an artifact of my
implementation, why wouldn't Shift+Tab also work?

On Dec 13, 5:02 pm, John LaBanca jlaba...@google.com wrote:
 Can you elaborate a little more?  Are you sure it isn't selecting the
 surrounding ScrollPanel, which is natively focusable?

 The Showcase sample doesn't seem to have this problem.  The implementation

 into this specific issue.

SplitLayoutPanel has a setWidgetMinSize(Widget, int) is there a way to do setWidgetMaxSize(Widget, int) ?

2010-11-11 Thread Blackberet
Basically I have a situation where I want to display the Splitter but
not have it be able to resize a panel that is collapsed. Theres is a
control on the panel which un-collapse's it.

So I am thinking if there is a way to fix the maximum size of the
collapsed panel which is a Widget in a SplitLayoutPanel.

How can I get a MenuBar's popup menu to pop down after the cursor leaves the popup menu?

2010-11-11 Thread Blackberet
this is weird behavior because the popup menu just stays there and
forces me to click somewhere outside it in order for the popup to pop
down.

How can I add an image to a CellTree leaf node that is visually at the same level as the non-Leaf +/- images?

2010-11-11 Thread Blackberet

I am using the basic resources styles

they line up like this;

+ XXX
+ YYY
- ZZZ
 * aaa
+ YYY
*

where * is the image I've added for a leaf node.

The samples or tests have this same problem as well when you use
homogeneous nodes.
They actually do not have an image for the leaf nodes, but my use
cases require it.

When using a MultiSelectionModel on a CellList should I be able to deselect an item in the CellList?

2010-11-09 Thread Blackberet
I've created a CellListString with a MultiSelectionModelString and
it seems to work correctlty in that it allows the user to select
multiple items and I can programmatically retrieve the selected items.

But, when trying to deselect an item the item does not deselect.

Is there something that I'm missing to get this behavior?

Using GWT 2.1.

I'd like to create a CellTree full of Anchors. Should I pick one of
the currently existing Cell types or should I create a custom Cell?
