Re: CSS loads for 1 millisecond, then disappears
CSS included in the HTML will likely be loaded -before- CSS from the GWT loader - hence the original posters dilemma/confusion. I put "correct" in quotes not as an absolute - just as a matter of convention, and relative surety of loading order. CSS targeted at -your- GWT components style classes should, IMO, only be included from the Module xml. Re: CSS loads for 1 millisecond, then disappears
I agree that would it be easier to catch errors and be sure of the loading order but I don't think it is more "correct" to include the CSS file in the gwt.xml file. I am trying to incorporate a GWT application into a pre-existing non- GWT project. I would rather not move the CSS from the pre-existing project into GWT and I also think a separation of the old CSS from the new, GWT centric CSS is a good thing. The existing CSS covers the entire site, whereas GWT (and its CSS) is but a small part of that one site. On Jul 6, 5:20 pm, "Dean S. Re: CSS loads for 1 millisecond, then disappears
It's only there because that is the way the sample hello world was written. Thanks for the suggestion about including it in the xml file, I'll tinker with that. Re: CSS loads for 1 millisecond, then disappears
Is there a reason you need to include the CSS in the html file?? it would be more "correct" - easier to catch errors, and sure of loading order - if you included the CSS file in your apps module gwt.xml file with a GWT will copy the resources folder to the final output folder, and load the CSS in a defined order. --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Web Toolkit" group. Re: CSS loads for 1 millisecond, then disappears
Ian you were right, after I corrected the typo and commented out the gwt styles, everything worked. Re: CSS loads for 1 millisecond, then disappears
How terribly ridiculous! It seems that my css file started with a capital letter, I had it written with a lowercase letter, and thus it was not working. Now that I've corrected it, my css works: I would have realized that much sooner if the css had not flashed before my eyes before disappearing. Sorry to waste your time guys. Thanks for trying to help, I appreciate it. -David On Tue, Jun 30, 2009 at 2:28 PM, Isaac Truett wrote: > > A code sample that reproduces the problem would be helpful. Re: CSS loads for 1 millisecond, then disappears
Look in the module file (ends in *.gwt.xml) Do you have the default GWT styles included? I suspect you do and they are overwriting your styles in the HTML. Re: CSS loads for 1 millisecond, then disappears
A code sample that reproduces the problem would be helpful. On the surface, I don't see how this could be related to GWT. What happens if you remove GWT from the scenario altogether?
