 Excellent, thanks for your efforts!

Somebody from GRASS team should request for build in GRASS PPA.

If still needed: I have a login there, what should I do? Sorry for being
 without PPA experience...

But it seems to be done:
 https://code.launchpad.net/~grass/+recipe/grass70-release

No, what you see on that page is actually build in my repository (GIS packages
(development) is mine).

You have to do it also for yours. Click on 'Request build(s)' and build it for
your stable repo.

Re: [GRASS-dev] Addons builds and manuals

2014-12-11 Thread Martin Landa
Hi Vaclav,

2014-12-09 20:27 GMT+01:00 Vaclav Petras wenzesl...@gmail.com:

The addons manual pages are still not built for some addons. I haven't
checked all but I checked the recent ones. The page claims to be updated
daily and the date I see in page info actually is Mon 08 Dec 2014 09:05:01
PM EST. Is there a log somewhere? Or some list where the modules should be
 added?

 http://grass.osgeo.org/grass70/manuals/addons/v.surf.nnbathy.html
 http://grass.osgeo.org/grass70/manuals/addons/r.surf.nnbathy.html
 (http://grass.osgeo.org/grass70/manuals/addons/m.surf.nnbathy.html)
 http://grass.osgeo.org/grass70/manuals/addons/i.theilsen.html
 http://grass.osgeo.org/grass70/manuals/addons/r.futures.html

 http://trac.osgeo.org/grass/browser/grass-addons/grass7/misc/m.surf.nnbathy
 http://trac.osgeo.org/grass/browser/grass-addons/grass7/imagery/i.theilsen
 http://trac.osgeo.org/grass/browser/grass-addons/grass7/raster/r.futures

now should be OK. The manual has been updated for long time. I have
fixed all scripts.

By the way, I'm wondering if m.surf.nnbathy is the right choice of name.
There is no standard for two different modules in one directory but
m.surf.nnbathy looks like a module name but is not. For example, r.colors
contains also r3.colors. That's not ideal but it does not introduce false
module name m.colors (m if for misc not mix anyway).

Hm, I just wonder what name would be better v.surf.nnbathy or r.surf.nnbathy...

I am not sure with Lucid. Maybe there are no suitable dependent

Just to clarify, the purpose of the code was just to check if GRASS is
still running and stop redrawing if it is not? I'm not sure what is the
behavior now, perhaps some errors somewhere. But the main GUI also does not
check if GRASS is running and just throws some errors, so maybe the need
for a better solution is not so big and/or it applies to all GUI
applications (d.mon wx*, g.gui, g.gui.*).

Me too but I guess that any of them will do. I don't know what is more
native from the point of view of the modules, this could be one way how to
decide. The other is what is the common use case (at least from the point
of view of the author). I would say that it is v.surf.nnbathy would be the
more used one, you usually interpolate points.

seems that it have something to do with permissions and ownership.

According this [1], you are not a active member of GRASS GIS team :).

I am CCing Angelos. Angelos, would you please request a build of GRASS

#2509: d.mon output overwrite

Comment(by glynn):

 Replying to [comment:10 martinl]:

related to this issue something changed in display architecture
(probably Glynn will know more), now you don't need to start any monitor
 to render data

it's r63361 (btw, the log doesn't explain why it bogus...).

It's bogus because there's simply no reason for that check to be there.
Everything worked fine before someone mistakenly added it, and works fine
now that it has been removed. The only consequence of that check was to
generate an error for entirely valid usage.

I really don't see the current behaviour of display commands in trunk as
 reasonable.

The current behaviour is exactly the same as the old behaviour before
someone decided to try to reincarnate the monitor concept from prior
versions and introduced a bug in the process.

The data are rendered automatically by default display driver without
any noticing to the user. I strongly suggest to change it back as it works
in G70 - to require to start any monitor - otherwise the user will very
 confused. As we are now.

Just because someone managed to introduce a bug which went un-noticed for
3 years, that doesn't make it correct behaviour. GRASS 7.0 hasn't been
released yet, so there's no imperative for compatibility.

To re-iterate: GRASS_RENDER_IMMEDIATE is not required for normal operation
(generating image files). It isn't supposed to be required, it wasn't
required until someone introduced a bug (probably because they thought
that it was required), it is no longer required now that the bug has been
 fixed.
