Hi devs,

As some urgent fixes have been accumulated, let's prepare the GRASS
GIS 7.8.5 release.

This is the 7.8.5 milestone in GH:

https://github.com/OSGeo/grass/milestone/5
--> Due by December 16, 2020 92% complete

I would actually like to anticipate it as much as possible.

What's still to be done for 7.8.5?

Best,
Markus

2020-12-20 Thread Veronica Andreo
Hi everyone,

I compiled release branch yesterday, it seems to work fine in my Fedora
32... gui does not crash, raster and vector maps are displayed well, raster
legend works, png export too, mapswipe too... seems fine to me.

Cheers,
Vero

[GRASS-dev] r.neighbors: options change for weights in GRASS 8

2020-12-20 Thread Stefan Blumentrath
Dear devs,

Since we have talking about possible changes for GRASS 8 at the Vitrual OSGeo
Community Sprint, I would like to bring this PR:
r.neighbors: add option for exponential weighting by ninsbl * Pull Request #597
* OSGeo/grass (github.com)
to your attention. It will change available options regarding weights in
r.neighbors. Please speak up if you have any concerns or comments regarding the
proposed implementation (especially option names and variables). The PR affects
weighting of the neighborhood cells...
If there are no objections or requests for changes I will merge it for GRASS 8.

Cheers
Stefan
