Fully agreed. But given the discussion we'll not change much any more
for the final release of 7.0.0.
We can give it an extra touch in 7.0.1 for example.

So, I would definitely not recommend GRASS GIS 6 to them, for these

I would recommend 7.0.0RC2 if you cannot postpone installation.

 in new functionalities but especially for the capacity of handling large
 data sets.


I agree with the above, G7 is such an improvement in terms of features and
general improvements that there is really no reason to stay with G6. What
advantage would keeping G6.4 have?
