I recompiled from scratch and it went through fine.

done in r53748-53755. Also related libraries (form, bwidget, gtcktk)
have been removed. So currently G7 should TCL/TK-free.

While I too am in favor of this, it makes it all the more imperative that we
solve the broken wxNVIZ for Mac.

Re: [GRASS-dev] removing nviz from trunk

2012-10-29 Thread Helena Mitasova
One question - Does the region change work properly for wxnviz in grass7?
In grass6.4.3 it is necessary to quit entire wxgui to get the region change to
apply to wxnviz,
but based on the discussions with Anna this can be fixed in grass7?
(I just got back from europe so it will take me a day or too to catch up and
get some time to test).

I agree that tcl/tk nviz can be removed from trunk - I have been using wxnviz
exclusively for the research and edu work
for couple months now and I did not see a reason to go back to old nviz for
anything so far.

2012-10-28 Thread Maris Nartiss
As old NVIZ is set to go anyway, I'd say Yes for removing it from
trunk. There is still time till 7.0 release to improve wxnviz to match
all features/stability of good old NVIZ.

Maris.

[GRASS-dev] removing nviz from trunk

2012-10-26 Thread Martin Landa
Hi all,

nviz is the last Tcl/Tk application in trunk.

wxNviz [1] covers almost 100% of functionality compared to original
nviz and it's stable enough for other testing and development. This is
the main reason why I would vote for removing nviz from trunk
including related libraries like `form` or `gtcltk`.
