For what I can see with the discourse instance of OpenStreetMap where we
created a category for Italian discussion there are only pros to have
discourse instead mailman since:
- people used to use mailing list can continue to answer via email

[GRASS-PSC] too many branches

2014-03-29 Thread Luca Delucchi
Hi PSC,

with the upcoming GRASS 7 release we have to many branches to maintain
(releasebranch6, devbranch6, releasebranch7 and trunk).
Can I ask you to take a decision about the future of all this branches?

I could suggest something like:
- keep releasebranch6 only for important bugfixes, no new feature and
starting to forget it
- put in reading mode or remove (after backport the differences with
grass64) devbranch6
- releasebranch7 is the new stable release branch, so new features
only when we are far from release a new version
- trunk for new feature

what do you think?

Thanks a lot
Best regards

I think that no more (or at least not many) major changes will go into
GRASS 7, apart from the wxGUI code base. Therefore it would IMHO be
very beneficial to get more feedback on GRASS 7 in order to detect and
 fix remaining bugs.

Also in pygrass there is some work to do yet

different method for donations than bank transfer because from Japan
 is really expensive.
Could you please let me know what is your idea?
In my experience we could use PayPal or Indiegogo

... but aren't these two completely different things?

yes

 1) If you want to transfer money, use Paypal or likewise [1].
 2) If you want to make a crowd-sourced-funding campain, use
Indiegogo or likewise. See also [2]

If they want to send money, then we need to figure out 1).

ok, but how?
I think that someone of PSC should open the paypal to his name,
probably should be better someone in EU otherwise we have the same
problem to move the money with bank transfert

 Best
 Markus

What do you think about it?

I PSC I'm back on this topic because a Japanese guy ask me for a
different method for donations than bank transfer because from Japan
is really expensive.
Could you please let me know what is your idea?
In my experience we could use PayPal or Indiegogo (OpenLayers use it
for the last fund raising and the have good feedback, but it is a
little bit expensive [0] [1]) .
We have no so much time,so we need to know something ASAP.

Thanks

Hi Moritz

2013/1/14 Moritz Lennert mlenn...@club.worldonline.be:
 Just stumbled upon this:

 http://sophia.estec.esa.int/socis2012/

It is only open to students enrolled in European universities, but it might
be an interesting addition to GSoC for developing remote sensing modules for
 GRASS.

Yes, I think this is a good idea. This is the last year edition.
Please look for update.
Thanks

[GRASS-PSC] svn addons access

2010-11-25 Thread Luca Delucchi
Dear PSC,
I would like to apply for svn write access for addons. In particular,
I write a module to semplify the use of r.li, for diversity indices
(simpons, shannon, renyi and pielou)
I have read the RFC2, and I accept it.

best regard
