[GRASS-user] Archiving GPM 3hr rainrate in GRASS
Has anyone here able to archive and load GPM dataset into GRASS? I was able to get TRMM netcdf in my area of interest before, but I can't find the tools to automate GPM downloads. Thanks! [GRASS-user] Renaming layers: temporary/session and permanent renaming
Hi, I can permanently rename a layer listed in the Layer Manager using the g.rename module accessible through the menu system: File Manage maps. However, it is also possible to rename a layer by right-clicking on the layer and typing in a new name. If someone is new to GRASS they may assume that this is permanent renaming, instead of only lasting for the session. Just a suggestion, but it might be more informative to a user if the latter is called 'Session rename' or 'Temporary rename'? After reading the wxgui guidelines, I see that the expected behaviour is a right click to enable a call to g.rename*. This is apparently not working in my GRASS version as noted above? That's wrong, I changed it in the documentation. Renaming layer is something different than renaming map. You can have the same map with different symbology and then you can rename the layer to distinguish those two layers. About the naming of the options, I don't think we need to change it, it's the same in QGIS - you can rename layer but it doesn't mean you rename the underlying file.
