[graylog2] Http Callback alert not firing in real time (missing by 30 seconds to minute)

2015-12-16 Thread Sreenath V
We have setup Http Callback alerts on stream and is working as expected.
However the alerts are taking couple of seconds to minute. Is there any
configuration for Http Callback delays ?

is there any already build plugin for logging table contents from an RDBMS

 network to a gray-log server ?

 thanks for any help,
 guy.

[graylog2] Re: [ANNOUNCE] Graylog v1.1.3 has been released

2015-06-25 Thread Sreenath V
Since we are using open source Graylog version, I believe there is no
protection for data inside Elastic Search. Anyone can query ES for data and
can modify/delete the data.

Happy to hear that you're happy with Graylog. :-)

Would you mind to elaborate a little bit on the security features you're
 missing (from Shield, I suppose)?

 Cheers,

[graylog2] Re: Strategy for sending application logs to GrayLog2 Server

2015-06-20 Thread Sreenath V
You can write custom code to push it using Logback-gelf API or send it to
Syslog which in turn can send it to Graylog server. Make sure when you
create input in graylog, specify to parse date and time from message (to
retain old date).

On Friday, June 19, 2015 at 1:00:33 AM UTC-7, Amit Gadkari wrote:

We have multiple Java web based application which generates custom log
files using our own logger. (not log4j or logback)
I understand we have to send data to GrayLog2 only in GELF format.
For logback and log4j we are using appender provided by GrayLog2 and its
 working fine.

 We have two problems
 a) We have started using GrayLog2 recently. But we want to send log files
of last 6 months to graylog2 server.
What is best way of doing this.
Should we write our own program which will read log file and then use
logback or log4j appender to send messagein GELF format to GrayLog2 server
 b) For application which are using custom logger.
What are different possibilities for sending current log file data and
old log file data to GrayLog2 server

Does GrayLog2 provides the outofbox utility which takes text file name and
 send data GELF format ?

[graylog2] Upon Graylog Server restart load balanced vi HA Proxy, its not receiving messages

2015-06-11 Thread Sreenath V
We have HA Proxy and 2 Graylog Servers.

1) When we stop and start one of the Graylog Server, we see that
Application is able to send messages to HA Proxy and the messages are going
to other Graylog Server. But the messages are not coming to this restarted
Graylog Server.

2) Now if I restart the other Graylog Server, then we don't see any
messages coming to either of the Graylog Server.

We upgraded from 1.1.0 to 1.1.2 still the issue is still there.

*Temporary solution* : We are restarting the application server (tomcat)
and the logs are flowing to Graylog Server.

Here is our HA Proxy config (10.3.1.12 is HA Proxy server)
