What do you mean with grml-mini? grml-small or grml-medium? :) Which version exactly are you talking about? > If i start from the CD everything is fine. But no Module is found. scsi=probe is deprecated at least for grml-medium. Which bootoptions are you using for "booting from HDD"? Can you please provide the steps you did so far? > Do you have any Idea which Module brings the CCISS Support on the CD? CCISS is behind behing kernel config CONFIG_BLK_CPQ_CISS_DA, what's compiled statically into the grml kernel - so that shouldn't be the issue. Does "dmraid -r" output anything when grml is booted in live-mode? If so your device requires dmraid support (which *should* be supported by grml and grml-medium but *not* by the initrd of grml-small). regards, -mika- -- http://grml.org/# Linux for texttool-users and sysadmins http://wiki.grml.org/ # share your knowledge http://grml.supersized.org/ # the grml development weblog #grml @ irc.freenode.org# meet us on irc signature.asc Description: Digital signature ___ Grml mailing list - Grml@mur.at http://lists.mur.at/mailman/listinfo/grml join #grml on irc.freenode.org grml-devel-blog: http://grml.supersized.org/

I have no idea what went wrong. It cannot find the "halt" binary because you already removed the CD. http://bts.grml.org/grml/issue384 Workarounds: Use noeject bootoption (so that the CD is not ejected before reboot), or ensure that you have called the reboot or halt binary (depending on what you want to do) immediately before shutdown, for example by using "halt" or "poweroff" instead of "shutdown -h now". or by calling it "halt --help", so that it is still in disk cache. [Grml] [grml] grml 1.1 shutdown will fail
Hello, batch your pardon for asking for your help. I have just downloaded the grml 1.1 iso und burned a live cd for playing a little bit with your nice tool. The cd starts and everything works fine. There also is no fault, when I start the cd with the grml testcd boot option. My PC has an ASUS Mainbord with an Intel Pentium III Processor. When I shutdown the PC (with shutdown -h now) the PC will hang when the cd is ejected and I have to disconnect the power to be able to restart the PC. I have no idea what went wrong. On the monitor are the following error massages: end-request: I/O error, dev hdc, sector 114876 hdc: tray open (there are a lot of this massages with different sector numbers) SQUASHFS error: Unable to read fragment cache block [2918b2b] SQUASHFS errror: Unable to read page block 2918b2b, seize 5811 /etc/init.d/halt: line 65: /sbin/halt: cannot execute binery file INIT: no more process left in this runlevel. [Grml] Problems with CCISS/HP Smart Array E200
Hello All! I have a small Problem with the cciss SCSI Support on GRML. I have read all the Docs i could find but without success. My Plan is to use GRML-Mini as a Rescue System on a seperate Partition. If i start from the CD everything is fine. The Partitions under /dev/cciss/c0d0pX are found. But i cant figure out what module provides the cciss Support. If i start GRML from HDD the Kernel is booting but can't find the Iso. I tried the Kernelparameter scsi=probe. But no Module is found. Do you have any Idea which Module brings the CCISS Support on the CD? TIA for any Help! Best Regards Thomas Richter -- Pt! Schon vom neuen GMX MultiMessenger gehört?
