[Win32] Great enhancement of native look feel for gtk+ win32. (with patch files)

2006-04-30 Thread 洪任諭PCMan

Hello everyone,
I've done some imrpovement on the look feel of gtk+ win32.
GIMP now looks more similiar to other native Win32 apps.

Here are some exciting screenshots:
http://pcman.sayya.org/gtk_win32/

The patch files are sent in separated bug reports for easier reviewing.

Here are the bug reports:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=340201

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=340204
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=340206

The patch for shadows of menus tooltips are not contained in
these reports, since it's duplicated with #148535, which is still
contraversial.

These look excellent to me. They very nicely fix the few visual issues
I've always had with GTK-WIMP. WIMP was very close, but the things you
fix here always have bothered me.

The screenshots of Inkscape are most impressive.

I haven't personally reviewed the patches yet but you mention changing
the color and look of a few widgets. Will these changes still work if
the theme is switched from the normal luna theme to one of the other
luna themes in windows XP? Do they pull in the appropriate values from
the Microsoft theme engine dll?

WIMP has always pulled in the appropriate colors from Windows. And it
has always used Microsoft's theming API, which means that it works
with all of the Luna themes and should work fine with 3rd-party
themes.

Yes I understand that. It was just the wording in the original post
that left a question in my mind as to whether his fine-tunings would
properly adapt to the other themes. I just wondered if they were were
custom tweaks at the pixel level.
