Hi Jim, looks like I can't get through to your new email, my messages get returned every time. Just a quick line to let you know that Helis arrived today in perfect shape, unfortunately out of bank's working hours. Will get da money transferred first thing Monday morning. Hey, my morning is some eight hours ahead of yours! Thanks for your trust. You won't be let down Happy riding, Roberto.
Los Gatos? (fluff for Greg)
From: Greg Christopher [EMAIL PROTECTED] was a Los Gatos address I haven't lived at in quite some time! Hey Greg, I know this is one of those stupid questions (like, oh, you live in New York City? Do you know a guy named...), but I just can't resist. Do you by any remote, remote chance know a guy named Rick Tharp of Tharp Did It Design Communication at Los Gatos? now THAT would be serendipity... Roberto.

The FJ is manufactured with pretty loose tolerances, compared to a water cooled engine, to avoid metal to metal between the aluminum piston and steel cylinders sleeves, which have different coefficients of expansion, to help avoid to tight a fit when engine gets hot. What tolerances are you referring to? Piston to wall clearance? There are many variables to consider, from an engineering stand point, on correct piston to wall clearance, piston diameter being one of the more important. Silicone content in a piston, and whether it is forged or cast, also must be considered, because they expand to different degrees. Check the clearance recommendations for Wiseco pistons compared to stock, much greater clearance, for the same engine and cooling system. 10 and 12 year old suits getting top dollar on ebay and such because of this performance and reputation. I sold my 12 year old suit for $350 which paid for about 1/2 of my new one. Can't do much better than that. Regards, Henry S. Winokur 94 GTS1000, AMA, MRF, MD/MSF Certified Instructor West Bethesda, MD
RE: Aerostich
I had one for 12 years that I sold late last year before I purchased my new one. I don't ride every day, but Aerostich will repair almost any damage you can do. If it isn't worth repairing, they'll tell you that. I think I sent my old one in every 2 years or so for zipper pull replacements, but you can now purchase the zippers and do it yourself if you are so inclined. As far as I'm concerned you can't get better protection. The way I look at it, if it's too hot or too cold to ride in my stich, it is simply too hot/cold (for me) to ride. So I take alternative transportation. Regards, Henry S. Winokur 94 GTS1000, AMA, MRF, MD/MSF Certified Instructor West Bethesda, MD Regarding the Aerostitch suit how many of us are using one for pretty much daily commuting ? I want to know how well they hold up with day in day out usage. Its quite a bit of money to me and I would hate to wear it out in a year or two. Since I ride a bike almost daily. I have a hard time believing with daily usage, repeated launderings and sun exposure any faric would hold up for very long. Any comments apreciated. Offlist is fine I'm sure this subject has been around before.

Darren: Check out the Hi Viz Lime Yellow. People say they can see me coming. The colors that seem to hold up best are black or gray. There is NO WAY this suit will wear out in a year or two and if there is a problem with any part of the suit simply send it in for an immediate repair. If it is a problem with a zipper or a torn seam, they will repair it FREE. I can't say enough good things about the company and the product. You REALLY don't need to wash it very often even if you wear it everyday. Simply take a damp cloth to get bugs of other dirt off small areas. If you do have to wash the whole suit, take out the pads (very simple) and wash with Nikwax http://www.nikwax.com Techwash and treat with Nikwax TX-Direct Wash-in to refresh it's water repellancy.
