Looking for parts and suggestions (Fluff GSXR-750)
Mandatory GTS content... Finished putting the front end together last night after regreasing the front upper and lower swingarms. Should be good for a few more years. Now time to tear the rear end down, lube that, and put on chain and sprockets. GSXR-750 content... I bought a 93 GSXR-750 that has been down on the left side. The price was right, and I am looking at making it more of a road warrior for now (Fast but not pretty). If I recall a couple guys are using GSXR for track bikes and maybe a couple other people have one also. I am looking for suggestions with what is good for the money on a header, jet kit, ignition advance kit, and any other suggestions for modification/setup of the bike. Both the front and rear rim have slight flat spots in them, any suggestions on where to have them "trued"? Once I get the performance mods done I will be looking for plastic. I am looking for front cowling, left lower cowling, and left rear cowling. My bike is the blue and white color scheme. You can reply off list. Thanks, Trent [EMAIL PROTECTED]
front swingarm
First of all I would like to thank Kevin H. for the directions he posted on how to regrease the upper A-arm bearings. I didn't even have to get the manual out until it was time to torque things back down. For people that have not regreased their front end (upper and lower a-arm and shock mounts) I would highly suggest it. Most of mine where near dry with 24K miles on a 93. One of the seals on the lower front shock mount was also installed incorrectly, the lip had been rolled back by the outside collar from the factory. It took me less than 2 hours to finish the job but I already had the tire and front fender off to bleed the front brake and clean the caliper. I am waiting for my dealer to order the rubber boot so I can put one on the right side. The right upper a-arm bearings where much drier than the left. I don't know if the boots helps but it seems to. Next week I will tackle the chain and sprockets and regrease the rear suspension. Any helpful hints? Thanks, Trent
Chain and Sprockets for the GTS
I am planning on putting a new chain and sprockets on the GTS this winter and would like to get the parts ordered in the next month. I will be converting from the 532 to a 530. At the same time I will be removing the rear swingarm to grease bearings and such and I would like to get a chain with out a masterlink. Does anyone know where to get one? Have people had better luck with one brand of chain/sprockets over another? I will probably use steel sprockets in the stock gearing. Thanks, Trent
