Touch Up Paint?

2000-01-18 Thread Michael Esfeld

Hey everyone! I've been pretty much lurking on the listserve sidelines over
the last 3 months or so since I bought my '94 GTS. What an embarrassing way
to say hey to the group, but here goes. About a week ago I decided to test
the ABS front/rear on a dirt road nearby. No problem there, everything
worked fine. The road I went down was actually someone's driveway and made a
90 degree turn at their back yard. I decided to turn around in a pretty
tight space. There was a layer of fairly large gravel (1 inch fairly sharp
grade) in the section I intended to turn. Doing about 2 MPH I began the turn
easing on the throttle to keep momentum and...you guessed it! Down she went.
Here's a bike with 10k on it kept in pristine condition by the previous
owner and I dump the thing! What amazed me was my ability to pick the bike
up on my own. Incredible what anger/adrenaline will do in a pinch. Bottom
line is, I ended up with a couple of nicks and several scratches. Tried some
rubbing compound and wax but short of repainting all the damaged tupperware
I'm looking for touch up paint. Haven't checked with the dealer yet, but
anyone think they still carry it? Other ideas?

Sure enjoy all the info the group sends out!

Mike

Color Rite from Los Angeles has the paint--they have a dot com, I just
can't remember...

I got some of the '93 "Red Cocktail" or whatever it's called from my Yamaha dealer
recently. I believe they had to order it, but no problem.
