It does not make much difference if this practice continues, or if rooms are booked individually. I guess that basically means writing up a nice letter/certificate and getting it signed by the GUADEC organization and the individual doing the workshop? That's what has been done at GNOME.Asia in the past. I have done some introductions to git and GNOME inspired Workflows, maintaining projects properly in two universities recently and people seemed to like it. Re: [guadec-list] GUADEC 2016: length and schedule
Hi On 2015-11-05 19:03, Allan Day wrote: Until 2014, GUADEC had 4 core days. Then, this year, we switched to 3 days. This was a bit of a challenge for the schedule: we just managed to squeeze everything in, but only just. If we want to go down to two core days, we'll probably have to radically rethink the schedule. Possibilities might involve cutting the lightning talks, and/or cutting the length of the talks. It seems like a good idea to talk about this early on. I have also been on the papers committee for the last couple of years. Given the general quality and freshness of talk proposals received, I can see little problem with dropping to only 2 core days. Reducing the length of time allocated to each talk would be my preference, if it is desirable to keep the same number of talks on the schedule. -- http://amigadave.com/ signature.asc Description: Digital signature ___ guadec-list mailing list guadec-list@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/guadec-list

Would personally prefer around 14:30 if I'm to join. Works well for me. Is there parking near the Snabbgross place? Do I have to worry about toll roads on the way (and with a foreign number plate)? Shall we meet at the car? I am parked in the parking garage in Olskroken. 3. Where do we drop it all off? Pelagicore have said its ok that we store it in their office along with the other things that they kindly store for us now (we can at least store things that does not need cooling there). There is quite a bit of food on the list that will need chilling. Can we drop everything off in one place, where there is a fridge, so we do not have to do two trips? Skyman already arranged the credentials we can use to shop there. Thanks Fabiana and Skyman! The car and I are now in Gothenburg, so I can go to Axfood whenever is convenient for Christopher, and it would be great to have him along as both a helping hand and a knowledgeable local. The forecast that Oliver linked to still looks good for Friday, but I guess that we should do a final check on Thursday afternoon. The shopping list on the etherpad looks good, and we can always modify it slightly if some things are not available. Some soft drinks and juices would be good, too. I added some rubbish (garbage) bags to the list. We can store the stuff here, but we need to come with with a plan for transporting things to Slottskogen. Someone with a car will probably need to leave Folkets Hus a little earlier to wrangle that. I am happy to leave a bit early on Friday to pick up the picnic things. We brought a (small) coolbox with us, and even a gas stove, which might come in handy. -- http://amigadave.com/ signature.asc Description: Digital signature ___ guadec-list mailing list guadec-list@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/guadec-list

Hi The travel committee has sent out most sponsorship acceptances now, and some people have replied mentioning that they need to apply for visas, and would need invitation letters. There is a blank space for "visa applications" on the GUADEC wiki page: https://wiki.gnome.org/GUADEC/2014/Team Who has the responsibility of sending invitation letters? It would be good to fill in the blank space on the wiki page, so that I can direct people to the right place. -- http://amigadave.com/ signature.asc Description: Digital signature ___ guadec-list mailing list guadec-list@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/guadec-list

D.O.A. is in a similar situation regarding not renewing the copyright (or rather, renewing it too late and the copyright office finding the renewal invalid): http://chart.copyrightdata.com/ch17.html It is easier to search for works published in the US before 1923, as those are all in the public domain, but there are many works (such as those above) that are outside of the usual life-plus-70 years term. -- http://amigadave.com/ signature.asc Description: Digital signature ___ guadec-list mailing list guadec-list@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/guadec-list
