Great news about Nathan Willis!

I wanted to propose Frank Karlitschek, who is the founder of ownCloud
and lives in Germany.

Here is a sample video of his talk:

Thanks,
Marina

 self-driving cars.

Great idea. Please do ask him.

Nathan has agreed to do a keynote.

I've just came by https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5mI192gdZ8 and
after a quick search so that her name had been listed last year

Was she contacted then, and if so did she express any interest?

Hi all,

If we are looking into designers, may I recommend Aral Balkan[1]? He has
really good views on good design and has given talks at TED[2](4 and half
minutes) and had recently spoken at RSAorg's event. He is a designer and a
social entrepreneur. He is based in Brighton, England.

Nathan's a good speaker. It would be good to know if we intend to ask him
to do this, since it will affect how many papers we accept.

Another idea for a keynote would be Peter Sikking [1]. He's the lead
designer for the GIMP, and has recently launched an open usability
manifesto [2]. I think he could give a good talk on open source design, and
 is based in Berlin.

A suggestion that already came up in discussions was Matthew Garrett and
since a few people thought it was a good idea I asked him if he would be

to attend anyway (I think he already has his ticket). So someone just needs

Good ideas, especially as they are Europe based! I've never seen any of
them speak. I'm a bit busy right now but it's worth looking to see if
there are videos of their talks so we can see their style as speakers.

I think this is a public list, right? So everyone be careful what you
say about people you don't want to invite :)

We should also think about inviting women speakers asap (I'm trying to
pick which keynotes I will do in fall already).
