Great stuff Andrea! Thanks for doing this.

Looking forward, it would be really nice to have a front end website
to present the videos, organized by year, etc. Perhaps a nice task for
someone looking to help out with our web sites ;-)

 Hi Rui,

the amount of data is 60GB, the bandwidth I must to check, but should
be few MBps (the initial peak is over).

OK, if someone provides me with a download link to get all the videos I can
start the download on one of the GNOME machines and store the videos safely
on our infrastructure. I agree that the bandwitdh usage should very limited
at this point given the initial peak of views if slowly going down.

The superlectures.com service is proprietary (it's commercial service)
so we are not able to provide you the
CMS, player, search engine, etc.. Sorry.
On the other hand you will get all videos, automatic transcripts,
 slides sync metadata, etc..

OK, I feel the very important point here is to get hold of all the videos
as soon as we can to avoid losing them when the hosting at
superlectures.comwill expire. Users will then be able to stream the
videos directly with one
of their favorite media players without the need to setup a customized
player on the infrastructure.

Have an awesome day,

P.S please keep me CCed since I'm not subscribed to the list.

OK, you can remove the tarball now. All the videos are now available at:

http://videos.guadec.org

Some of them don't have a proper name unfortunately and I don't have the
time to check each of them and rename the folder accordingly. Or if Jozef
can prepare me a little list with the IDs and the respective video name, I
can easily rename the folders in a few seconds.

You have the http://superlectures.com/guadec2013/ guaranteed for one
year. Then we will not delete the data until we have enough disk space
(or you can prolong the hosting) - anyway we will inform you in such
case in advance.
The second option is to put videos on a YouTube channel and we can
replay videos from YouTube instead of our HDD. But then users will
suffer from commercials.

The superlectures.com service is proprietary (it's commercial service)
so we are not able to provide you the

CMS, player, search engine, etc.. Sorry.
On the other hand you will get all videos, automatic transcripts, slides
sync metadata, etc..

Sure, that's actually up to the people that will provide me the videos, I'll
just set them up in a publicly available web server in the format you will
provide them to me. As an additional note, we should probably ask
superlectures to set up an apache redirect to our servers when the migration
will happen. (to avoid current urls to break at migration time)

Also is the superlectures web UI proprietary or we can eventually set up an
istance of the videos similar to the superlectures one? or do we just need
the videos to be available somewhere without caring too much about the web
frontend used for viewing the videos?
